QUOTE (Hartmann @ Apr 5 2006, 04:23 PM)
Just so you know, not all libraries are dynamic just because they have a .dll extension. Win32 is not created dynamically, ok it's created when Windows starts up, but it's a very static library, same with run and lsass (depending on which version of Windows). I am confused, first IE and Explorer weren't tied together, now they are but not in the way I have presented it, is this just an e-penis contest because honestly, you can claim to have the bigger one, I really don't care.

you told me that internet explorer depends on explorer.exe to run. it does not. you can verify this by simply running IE and ending the explorer.exe process. if the underlying libraries share some memory space, fine, it still didn't affect my ie client. it's not an e-penis contest unless you want to make it one. you said i was wrong, so i defended myself.

edit: hey and maybe it did work that way however long ago when you learned it.

QUOTE (Hartmann @ Apr 5 2006, 04:23 PM)
So you're saying he doesn't pay attention? I mean, all he'd have to do is a little reading and he'd figure it out. Plus there's the point that zetec made in the other thread, you don't have to use the single button mouse that comes with the mac. The simple fact that he doesn't read up gives me the right to call him a moron for making such a (get this) moronic and poorly informed statement. I don't go around screaming Microsoft sucks, but if I did I would definitely have something to back it up with.

that's my point, who gives a shit about apple enough to "read up" on their hardware? he wasnt making some damn 10 page forum argument he was making fun of apple, which according to zetec does sell computers with 1 button mice.

you do realize that over the years, windows and IE have only become MORE integrated, right? (up until IE7, that is, which is still very much beta.)

When the "Mighty Mouse" came out, it was posted all over slashdot, you can't walk in Fry's without seeing one hooked up to every mac, they even did television commercials for the damn things. you don't have to "read up" on apple's hardware, they make it pretty well known when they release something new. Hell, even USA Today and even the goddamn Lubbock Whateverthefuckthatshittypaperiscalled have carried stories about new apple products. I'm certain that they touched on the "Mighty Mouse" (okay, dumb name, i'll give you that) as well.

we're not talking about windows and IE, we're talking about explorer.exe and ie.

i never heard of the "mighty mouse" until today. i haven't been to a fry's in like 3 years, haven't seen any commercials about it, and don't read the lubbock avalanche journal (although I'm sure if I did I'd see "MIGHTY MOUSE" on the front page).

So it's our fault that you're so far removed from current events that you're head is crammed up your asshole? Well, then on behalf of the rest of the world, we apologize.

lol if that's your definition of "current events" that the "rest of the world" is aware of, you're even nerdier than I thought.

hmmm, funny, i don't recall you saying that at all... is this more of that "backtracking" you speak of?

and what's wrong with a one-button mouse? it's still functional, is it not? and is it really that hard to buy a new mouse? apple ships their products with 1-button mice because they always have. It's their philosophy of keeping things simple. I don't think it's going to absolutely ruin your day to stop at walmart on the way home and pick up a new 2 (or 12, whatever) button mouse for $9.99 more. Chances are, you already have plenty of mice lying around that you could use. I know I do. Most people that plop down a pretty chunk of change for a decent mouse typically will move that mouse to their primary computer.

For example. If I bought an apple and had it shipped here, and opened it up, I'd unplug my mouse from my desktop and plug it into the apple. Worst case scenario, i'd use the apple mouse on the desktop, although I have a few thousand other mice lying around here. Mice are hardly a commodity nowadays.

Anyone dual-booting is probably going to have a nice little collection of mice anyways.

how does the fact that you can use a 2 button mouse on a mac change the fact that they still ship macs w/a 1 button mouse?
