Look, the rules are the rules. NSFW is fully allowed in LRAR, elsewhere it's linked and tagged. Avatars and sigs should not be NSFW. We didn't think that Dogmeat's avatar was all that bad, but he removed it when I asked him to ANYWAY.

Rather than starting a thread and having a hissy fit every time something NSFW crops up, why don't you PM the fucking mods? PM me, Gert, Seussninja, and the mod for the specific forum where the violation occurred. If it's an avatar/sig thing, PM us and Lance. The global mods can't change that stuff, but we can try to get ahold of Lance on AIM and whatnot.

And before PMing ANY of us, try PMing the person in question. Chances are, if you ask nicely, they'll change/remove/link the offending image. Maybe they didn't realize that it was annoying. Maybe they thought it was work-safe. In any case, save your sent and received PMs for that conversation, because if they're bitchy about it, they're likely to get a ban and we want to know.

i haven't read anything except whats on this page, so i'll take a shot at it:

yes, you can turn off avatars if you want, but out of civility they should be at least remotely SFW. Avatars DO help me to quickly identify people, i remember when like 8 of us all had the hypnotoad [ALL HAIL HYPNOTOAD] avatar, and it strated to get confusing as hell. (I don't remember posting that!)

the reason i started the thread in the first place was because i thought after the first round of avatar trouble that everyone got involved in concerning brandon, that the rules were made clear about nsfw avatars.

obviously people who still refrain from these rules arent being courteous to others. why should i humor them with a please-and-thank-you attitude? the rules are if its nsfw dont post it. not if its nsfw outside a 2 foot radius of personal space. and heres the kicker - if its questionable whether its nsfw or if someone else can see it and tell what it is, then dont post it. there are MILLIONS of images on the internet that you can use to be equally annoying/rebellious/funny that are sfw. bottom line is, you KNOW when something is sfw or nsfw. choosing to follow through anyway just shows how much of a badass you think you are.

no. ill refrain for once. i dont see this as a logic contest. I see this as a difference of views. I just dont agree with those who get so upset because they post at work when all they have to do is change their board settings. Even if the rules were enforced strictly, I would still change my board settings because you never know.
