When it comes to politics, many of us have probably changed our views in the past 15 years. If you remember my posts, I was probably considered moderately conservative. Never far right, but definitely to the right of center.
During the Obama years, I started identifying more as a moderate. Liberal on some issues, conservative on others. And then, 2016 happened. I voted Libertarian in that election (just knowing that Hillary would absolutely win). Not anymore. I had already been moving to the left due to 1) being surrounded by more liberal friends, 2) living that expat life, and 3) maturing and becoming more empathetic in general. But my hate for Trump has definitely accelerated that move. I can't stand 99% of anyone in the Republican party (still greatly respect McCain and starting to like Romney a lot more). In the 2018 mid-term elections, I didn't register as a member of any party. In 2020, I officially registered as a Democrat.
