I love how you always think you have some philosophy figured out that explains me.

I'm not segmenting anything. Just because someone puts multiple different thoughts in one long paragraph doesn't make their entire run on post one cohesive argument. I split out the individual ideas because it's easier to individually respond to them.

Besides, it's not like typing the bbcode to split the quotes up requires a computer science degree.

i've seen your shit, i've read your shit, i've even argued with you and you've done it with me.

you segment your arguements because it's easier for you to nitpick the individual sentences, instead of having a debate over the actual concept.

you never truelly address the subject when you pull that crap, all you do is open up several tangents in the conversation to argue against, and distract from the original subject.

we've all seen you do it, so you can quit with that bullshit.

I already explained it but you just felt the need to repeat the same shit. I'm not going in circles with your crybabying about my posts.

It's so easy to tell when I hit a nerve or make a point with you guys, because you stop debating the topic and start bitching about me and how I post. Pretty petty and childish if you ask me. If I'm as stupid as you guys act like I am, then my posts shouldn't make you so defensive.

I agree with Impala on this one, at least in asking for substantiation of your claims.

Did most of the funding for "Keep Lubbock Beautiful" come from conservative Christian groups?
Were religious reasons the ones most touted in opposition to the props?

These are the kind of questions you should be answering. Calling Impala names and insulting his posting style does not prove your points.

i wasn't siding with fanatic, or even putting in an opinion for this thread. my involvement is purely on the subject of how impala posts.

Sounds like trolling to me. Knock if off.

It's going to take at least 8 weeks for booze to appear on the shelves in town and even longer for package liquor stores to appear.

One because the strip is suing the city of Lubbock over zoning regulations that they feel violate state law.

Two it takes a long time to approve upwards of 100 liquor permits.

But eventually the strip will cease to exist and we will be able to buy our booze in town. Yippee!

And i'm sure the two companies, Majestic and Pinkies, Plan on moving into the city. They are trying to buy some time with the lawsuit as well as maintain the monopoly they have over the city.

I recall hearing at one point that some of the mega churches in Lubbock were owners or otherwise involved with the businesses on the Strip. Any truth to that?

they got donations from the strip owners near election time, but other than that they aren't "involved" in the businesses. Majestic which owns most of the strip is an out of town company.

Pinkies is also out of town. It's based out of Odessa/midland, while majestic is based out of the fort worth area.

if this thing passed by 70% or whatever, obviously a lot of these "conservative christians" voted for it.

i know plenty of people who would fall into that category, and they're all for selling alcohol in the city. there are many reasons why it was a good idea...which had nothing to do with religion or being conservative.

i think it was only the uber-conservative people who were against it, and honestly (even in lubbock) that's probably a minority within the "conservative christians" group.
