Ok so I halfass got dragged into this thing between some friends of mine, and I figure it was interesting enough to post up.
Backstory There's Couple XY, Wife X is orig from Texas, Husband Y has lived all over, they both lived in NYC for the past several years. Wife X is 31, Husband Y is 34. Girl Z, 27, grew up in Syracuse and North Carolina, and ended up working in NYC. She met them while working with Wife X about three years ago, and became very good friends with Couple XY. Girl Z went through a lot of tough times and Couple XY helped her out. Like family almost. Wife X got a job at NASA, followed by Husband Y, (then me), then Girl Z. I work with Husband Y & Girl Z, Wife X works in another building. Story So Couple XY just moved into a new house. Myself and Girl Z helped out a ton for a solid week or so before their movers came to get the big stuff. Wife X was completely stressed out the whole time and needed Girl Z around for support. Well Girl Z had some friends (she sees ~4-5 times per year) come into town this past Friday night, to hang out for the weekend. The big move was Saturday, and Girl Z decided to get up early to go help Couple XY while her friends were still asleep, but the rest of the day she hung out with her friends. When her friends left on Sunday early afternoon, Girl Z went straight over to help again. Result Couple XY feels like Girl Z has wronged them because entertaining some "lesser" friends was not as important as being there for them during their time of stress. Couple XY is so upset they're questioning their friendship with Girl Z. Girl Z is upset by this. |

Dude Couple XY needs to chill. It's fucking moving -- not like you are asking Girl Z to donate half her liver to save their baby's life and then backs out. The couple is obviously at fault. I mean reevaluating a friendship because a person didn't show up on one of the many days you are packing and moving, C'mon!
Also, you made it sound like there was an affair going on with lines like " I work with Husband Y & Girl Z, Wife X works in another building" -- I was expecting something more juicy... I also loled at the statement "Wife X was completely stressed out the whole time and needed Girl Z around for support". Women are so weird. --------------------  |

Women also hold grudges FOREVER. I pissed off a girl at work and it has taken her nearly 4 months to start talking to me again. Sounds like the couple is being way too jealous.

Yeah and Wife X, while she's a nice person, she's an extremely... blunt... individual. She will hold a grudge no doubt. Husband Y is pretty open minded but yeah I think Brandon hit the nail on the head... he's pretty much going along with her because she's his wife. He tried talking to me about it... I told him I'm not getting into it and if he wants my opinion he's gotta straight up ask for it (yeah yeah I know, unlike here
 ). So he asked for it and I told him I thought they were overreacting. He seemed to agree by his facial expressions but not by his words... Problem is Couple XY both have huge egos and will have a tough time admitting it.By the way Girl Z is the one I'm workin on

Are X and/or Y engineers or otherwise well-paid? If so, they should just hire some damn movers to do everything next time.

Z is such a bitch. I mean come on its moving, the single most important thing a friend should be around for. How dare she back out when she has "other friends" come into town. She should be worked on by Impala!
Seriously though, did they help her with a BIG move earlier on and then now she screws them on thier move? Im thinking since she's a girl, thats not really the case since women are good for boxing clothes... and thats about it. Seems petty... just don't help her move when she has to and call it even (though still stupid). -------------------- |

Wife X = physics bachelors Husband Y = physics masters Girl Z = ME bachelors not sure what they're all paid, but the couple is very well off (just bought like a $300k+ house on the bay and yeah, they did hire movers, just to move the big stuff. pretty dumb to not have them move everything IMHO. |
