Does anyone know how to recover files from a WD Sync drive?
My girlfriend didn't understand that it isn't a backup solution (just a syncing one) and when she plugged it in to her computer and it auto-synced it deleted some files. Thanks. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Hi
If you plan to recover data of any kind it is best you use the the device as little as possible after you loose you data until you recover your files. To recover your data do the following: -download some free data recover software some are below: http://www.winundelete.com/?rid=google&kid=wu0406 http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ http://www.ontrack.com/software/ And recover the "Wd Sync Data" folder found on the root of the usb device. - Then download the data recovery tool to decrypt your files. This tool is available at this address: http://www.dmailer.org/download/DataRecoveryTool.zip When you have downloaded it, here are the steps to use it: 1. Launch it and go to "Profiles->Scan directory" 2. Select your "WD Sync Data" folder containing your synchronized data. You should see all your profiles being listed. 3. Select the profile you wish to synchronize and click "SaveAllTo" The problem that you had has now been fixed in the latest version of Dmailer Sync and you can no longer loose after a format find out more here: Dmailer Sync V8 If you need further support with an issue like this contact the Dmailer Support Team: www.dmailer.com |
