I worked with kindergardeners for three days this week because I substitute teach. I was helping kids with their art projects which involved using metal brads (see pic below if you dont know what they are). Anyways, I slipped and stabbed one underneath my fingernail and it hurts like a bitch. sad.gif

/end complaint

ever since, i'm sticking w/ middle school.

middle school is cool. im working at a very underprivaledged school right now (bozeman elementary located on parkway drive which is the same as 4th street past I-27 and MLK). I hate working with little kids, but these kids come from such horrible backgrounds that it is an experience that has really made me realize how fortunate I am. The kids are great kids, suprisingly way better behaved than the kids I subbed for from private schools.

middle school and high school is what i want to do though

I'm gonna go apply on Tuesday. Talked with a friend about it and she said I can call in and pick where I go, which sounds good to me. I'd do the lower grades, but I'd probably end up playing with the kids instead of teaching them sad.gif

I want my name to be feared at the high school I sub at. In the halls, when they hear Mr. Pigg, a student will die from fear. laugh.gif Just kidding. I had subs like that in high school and they sucked bollucks.

yeah, you can pick where you want to go, what grade you want to teach, and what days you want to work. They need subs so badly that you can pick up any days you please. My only advice is this: they send out letters to 3 references that you pick. pick 3 people that will respond quickly. It took me forever to start because my references took forever to respond to the letter.

Yeah. I have the friend that's already substituing. Then I have a professor that I've had for like four different classes and knows me pretty well. Then...I dont' know who to pick for the third. I don't think they're going to care about the references all that much as long as they're not all really, really bad marks. I tried explaining this when I filled out a reference, but that seemed to hurt feelings, so I went and got an application, took the reference letter to her, had her fill it out like before, and modified it. Let's hope they don't remember me when I go get one for real. It's been four or five months. It would be nice if I knew who my boss was. I could give one to him/her.
