I worked with kindergardeners for three days this week because I substitute teach. I was helping kids with their art projects which involved using metal brads (see pic below if you dont know what they are). Anyways, I slipped and stabbed one underneath my fingernail and it hurts like a bitch.

I hate working with little kids, but these kids come from such horrible backgrounds that it is an experience that has really made me realize how fortunate I am. The kids are great kids, suprisingly way better behaved than the kids I subbed for from private schools. middle school and high school is what i want to do though This post has been edited by Jessica: Feb 23 2006, 09:53 PM |

They need subs so badly that you can pick up any days you please. My only advice is this: they send out letters to 3 references that you pick. pick 3 people that will respond quickly. It took me forever to start because my references took forever to respond to the letter. |

It took me forever to start because my references took forever to respond to the letter. Yeah. I have the friend that's already substituing. Then I have a professor that I've had for like four different classes and knows me pretty well. Then...I dont' know who to pick for the third. I don't think they're going to care about the references all that much as long as they're not all really, really bad marks. I tried explaining this when I filled out a reference, but that seemed to hurt feelings, so I went and got an application, took the reference letter to her, had her fill it out like before, and modified it. Let's hope they don't remember me when I go get one for real. It's been four or five months. It would be nice if I knew who my boss was. I could give one to him/her. -------------------- Spam?
