You have a problem with civilian inmates being forced to work??? Would you rather they sit around forming gangs and tattooing each other?

You have a problem with civilian inmates being forced to work??? Would you rather they sit around forming gangs and tattooing each other? you have a grossly misinformed view of the prison system. but i don't think the point is talking about normal camps these are the ones dealing with the military, which would only go into affect during war and martial law. which, is legal according to the geneva convention to force inmates to do manuel labor. excessive punishment however is not allowed. lance has kinda blown this out of proportion, the military has a plan for everything. my buddy in the marines had to write a full detailed plan of action incase the showers of his facility stopped working. it's not surprising that this plan exists, in fact i'm be very disappointed in the intelligence of our military if it DIDN'T -------------------- |

So people don't get tattoos or form gangs in prison?
If you read the main idea of the document he posted, all it's saying is the military will have use of civilian inmates as labor. I don't see any problem with that. Lance seemed to miss the words "inmate" and "federal correctional facility" and just thought it was military having use of civilians as labor. Just another dumb conspiracy post by him is all. |

Just another dumb conspiracy post by him is all. some do. but the ones you're refering to are the ones that are already in the gangs, and they already have tattoos. those gang members make it a bad rap for everyone else, and the tattoos they get label them as easily as a social security number. the spider web on the elbow? 1 main line for every year in jail. the dots on the meat of the thumb? the number of times they've been arrested. there is a ton more. but those are the bad apples you can't judge the rest by. there may be a rare case of someone getting mixed in with them. but for the most part the jailers do a decent job of keeping that down. -------------------- |

Haha ok those guys give a "bad rap" for the other jailbirds? I know what you're saying though. It's kinda beside the point really. The point was that I'd rather see them put to work than whatever it is they're doing in prison.

The point was that I'd rather see them put to work than whatever it is they're doing in prison. i understand. hell, i thought the same thing several months ago. get those fuckers helping to finish the damn construction, etc. but, i had the volunteer work program fully explained to me, and i agree with it. those bastards that make an effort should be allowed to get out a little early with good behavior. those assholes who don't wanna help, it goes on their reviews for their probation officers once they're out. but it accomplishes more than just getting a few manuel labor chores done. it's like, one big psyche evaluation while you're in there. also, the work release causes a rift on the prison populace. your suck ups and your hardasses. it defines a line for they system to gauge on. kinda like closing off compartments of a sinking ship. without a defining line to cross, the entire populace would mix together freely, and when they leave they'd be more involved in the gangs, etc like you stated. but by giving the prison populace a choice to be one of the "suck ups" and get the ridicule from the "hardasses" it's less likely that the suck ups will screw up again as easily. the statisctics on that are proven, though i don't have them for lubbock county. -------------------- |
