QUOTE (basschick @ Feb 28 2006, 07:21 PM) no - i've been taking "thesis hours" we have to have 18 hours of "7000" credit, which is essentially research for our second year projects (aka masters work) when you are done with that you take 8000 hours, which switches you over to being a "phd" student (even though I already am.) Ahhh... durr, this is the fall semester thread. You're finishing your MA in August then doing PhD work starting in the Fall? -------------------- |

I lied!
I'm going to get a master's degree afterall! Just it will be in Secondary Education with emphasis on mathematics instead of being in Mathematics. I will be taking EDCI 5310, EDLL 5341, EDSE 5305, and EDSE 5320 in the fall. Maybe EPSY 5379, too. Not sure about that just yet. -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?

Basically, if you have a degree, for instance, in math, you can take one semester of "teaching" courses and become a teacher in your content area. -------------------- ![]() |

I was going to apply to it a year ago when it was just starting up. With or without that, it only takes one semester of courses to become certified, but since I already have all these math courses and have to take all those certification courses, then I'm only one or two courses away from getting a master's. I might actually go to that graduation. And he probably put teaching in quotes because, in my experience, the education classes are a joke. Super easy A. -------------------- Spam? They have that, too, I'm sure, but the Curriculum and Instruction department in the College of Education offers a Master's Degree in Secondary Education. http://www.educ.ttu.edu/grad/home_dp.htm -------------------- Spam? Lee is easy. Cant understand him at all, but he is easy if you read the text book. I took him for summer school and all his tests were mulitiple choice.

I took Banducci for 1301 and she was really interesting. Her test weren't that bad. Karp is her husband and I have heard that he is really horrible. He came and subed for my class one day and half the class left when they saw that it was him.

POLS 1301 is boring period... asking which professor is best is like asking which perfume goes best with dog shit.
My professor was Banducci but I couldn't really tell you if she was a good prof or not. I rarely went to class other than to take the exams. I suppose the good thing about her is that - at least when I took her class - she has all of her slides online. |
