Long story short. My ex was living with me. A few nights ago she was on the phone with someone and was bitching about my roommate and he heard her. He told her to shut her fucking mouth and talk to him if she has a problem. Then she threatened to key his truck. Then he called the cops. He comes in at like 2 in the morning (I'd been asleep since 11) and told me the cops were here. I get up, listen to both of em bitch at each other, my roommate told her she needed to get out of the house, the cop told her she needed to leave, blah blah blah. She packed her shit up and moved out. I wasn't really paying attention to her getting her stuff cause I was shooting the shit with the cop.

This afternoon I decided to go to the range so I grabbed my SKS and AR-15

I noticed my Glock .40 was missing. It's been in my closet along with the rest of my arsenal since the day I moved in. The only person who knew I had firearms in the house was my roommate, who has a shit ton of his own

Who do I call to report a stolen firearm? ATF? The cops? Who stole it (even though it's obvious) or replacing it isn't important. The fact that a gun registered in my name is now missing is what scares the living shit out of me.

I would call the non-emergency police number and ask how you go about reporting a missing weapon. Say you believe it was stolen. Look around some more though. You probably just misplaced it.

I don't accidentally misplace $600 pistols

I know I had a penchant for misplacing baseball cards and shit when we lived together. This is a bit different. I'm extremely paranoid about guns and losing them

Firearms sold at gun shows by private sellers (ie people who don't have a retail sales license) don't have to screw around with Brady Bill forms.

And no, I wouldn't be up shit creek if she stole a non registered gun. It's still registered to the last person who purchased it, so Joe Blow at the Erwin Gun show would be facing homicide charges if it was used to commit a murder.

I'm sure it has your prints somewhere on it. Plus, it's illegal to own guns not registered in your name.

What's the point of registering a gun then? Why would Will have to hide his guns? And wouldn't there be stricter gun laws than that?

to be a "responsible" citizen and give big brother information about who can defend themselves or not (as much as i dont go for most conspiracies, that is one that does really bother me). Supposedly it was to help keep gun merchants from being able to sell weapons to certain people (cause felons are not allowed to purchase fire-arms).

Dumbest thing ever. I think all guns should be registered.
