This was announced last week... They were telling people in Las Vegas not to worry if they saw a mushroom cloud.

Hmmmmm.....

Tegnelia said the test was part of a US effort to develop weapons capable of destroying deeply buried bunkers housing nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.

Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but wouldn't sending a 700 ton bomb into a bunker full of nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons be a BAD idea?

Remember, this is the same military that considered making a "gay bomb" that would make enemy soldiers fall in love with each other.

I wish I were making this shit up.

No, when you have an explosion that big, the biological weapons will just burn up, most chemical agents would burn at that temperature also. It would also blow the nuclear payload into billions of pieces, which wouldn't be very harmful; seeing as it only takes about 10kg of uranium to make a nuclear bomb. But if you're hitting someone elses bunker who gives a shit if it poisons them.
