Propose a better system. And just an aside: There is no reason to misspell ridiculous. For fuck's sake, the word is underlined red when it's misspelled. I just did propose a better system. In fact, I proposed several. And no, it's not underlined when it's misspelled. Spelling is for 4th graders, I will have no part in it at this point in my life. Anyways. Proposal #1: Eliminate the fucking thing entirley Proposal #2: Model the "wealth curve" as the exponential curve it is. Put your tax amount at the "average" tax point in question based on an exponential wealth curve from 10,000 to 10,000,000,00 or whatever upper cap is needed with respect to a final cap of %50 at whatever the top level is. Determineing the "top" cap would be difficult and at the drop of a hat I don't have a full-on mathematical solution but something like this could exist. IE, it would be an exponentially increasing tax rate up to a certain cap, similar to a flat tax but not flat because it adjusted for the exponential difference in wealth from top to bottom. Again this is just a possible idea if you can kind of see what I'm getting at . Proposal #3: Model the system after income taxes, IE, death tax up to 1,000,000 pays nothing, 1,000,000-5,000,000 pays %15, 5,000,000-25,000,000 pays %25, etc. At least attempt to make it fair. Proposal #4: Adjust the threshhold to a meangingful number so as to not completley terrorize the middle-to-upper middle class people. None of this would ever happen of course, because it's a money grab by the liberals in the federal government and they can tell their bottom of the barrel constituents that they're "sticking it to the rich people" to scrounge up votes. That's pretty much why this tax exists, it has a lot less to do with preventing the wealthiest families in the US from accruing too much wealth. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

I didn't vote the only reason I voted was just so I could claim I didn, I pretty well knew my vote wasn't going to matter at all. People don't elect presidents, the national news media does. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

Propose a better system. If you really support the complete annihilation of the middle class, then I can understand your support for getting rid of the death tax. NOT the job of the government to make sure the middle class isn't "annihilated" despite how retarded the idea that the middle class will be annihilated is. If rich people need something done... what exactly do they have to do? oh yeah PAY people. Thus they aren't hording the money, its going back to everyone else. Wealth in stock and equity grows business (thus jobs), and money in banks is lended out for OTHERS to make money. Your idea of money hording that needs to be solved is laughable at best. You are merely proposing that more money go to the GOVERNMENT which doesn't give money back, they make wasteful shit programs that fail because of being run by a beurocracy. So how about i propose you let capitalism work as it always had with the whole "american dream" thing -------------------- |

Uh... you mean it's not the governments job to regulate the economy??? Sorry. Wrong. its the job of the government to decide how i spend my money because of regulation of the economy... WHAT?!?! You have a fucked up view of how the government can use YOUR money... scary. Hey, believe it or not, if the government wants your land, they have to PAY for that ... can you believe it... even if the land is going to starving children shelters or something. -------------------- |

So does Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. And honestly, I value their opinion over Seth Nobody. Really, I think a trip over to wikipedia might help because I think there are some misconceptions about the estate tax. I think both of you are really angry at the estate tax because of what you think it is, rather than what it really is. -------------------- ![]() |

So it's compleltey fair and just to put somone who has made $1,000,000 in their lifetime in the same bracket as two men whose combined worth is over 100,000,000,000 Pure genius And no, I'm pretty sure I see this for what it really is, a money grab by the federal government. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

You obviously didn't read wikipedia because it isn't $1 million. There isn't any point in arguing about something you are completely ignorant about. -------------------- ![]() |

No, I took the number that you stated in an earlier reply. Your response was that anything over 1,000,000 was taxed at %55 unless divied up amongst a number of people. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
