I don't think that I even have the original receipt. the CD appears to be in perfect shape. I mean this was happening to me no sooner than the second day I played the game, and apparently I'm not the only one that is having these problems ... Bethesda fucked it all up. Honestly if it wasn't for this thing locking up on me, I'd be pretty happy with this game. walmart allows for exchanges (no reciept required). It may be that the actual disc has problems (like a burning error to the disc) What 360 do you have? Basic, elite, midrange? Maybe its the older model 360's with problems (my 2nd release 360, which fixed some of the original 360 bugs, may be the reason im not having problems)... -------------------- |

oh, and i was discussing with a friend... this game is good mainly because it gives me good feelings of the original. Like the minefield "ghost-town" mission reminded me of the ghost town from the originals (the underground people who had the corn field), but this game just had a mine-field with a sniper named arkansas shooting at you. No story to explain it or ANYTHING.
Fallout had a story for EVERYTHING... thats why this just isn't a fallout game. It does have the right post-apocalptic feeling, but the humor is HORRIBLE compared, gore is good, but that wasn't the good part of the originals, more just a "perk" (literally). -------------------- |

You may have a screwed up disc... maybe consider replacing it (mine doesn't seem to freeze at jefferson). The originals ended once the main story ended Caps suck, but i think they will eventually unlock the levels when they release more content and i told everyone on here not to get their hopes up on Fallout-Oblivion. It's fun, but if you expected Fallout 1 or 2 quality you were aiming WAY to high... especially since a great game (for any system) hasn't been released since the 90's. Hell, just look at the "games of the year" from recent memory and none of them live up to they hype (biosuck pissed me off soooo much) ummmm......Resident Evil series?! (Specifically the remake of 1, Code Veronica, and part 4) -------------------- |

What I've noticed is that for the story to play out having a high speech helps ... I've gone back and talked to some of the same characters I talked to early in the game but now that my speech is maxed out they give me more info and quests. Arkansas is an escaped slave apparently. I've also found a shitload of voice diaries in the various vaults and at random places throughout the game. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

Would have been nice to have a STORY revolving around Arkansas, hell they could've left stuff in the houses he had the key to. And it wouldn't have been hard to have a quest within a quest ... maybe make arkansas a free man so he can leave, kill him, or re-slave him to his owner. -------------------- |

I went and bought the 360 version. Its a good game, but not as good as the originals. I don't like how you can't pickpocket and do what you could in the old game.

You can pickpocket... click one of the analog sticks and you'll duck (or "sneak")... then when you press A on someone you pick pocket. But you can't pick pocket everything like in the old one. -------------------- |

you can't slaughter all the chlidren in this game either And i don't get what the reason why is. The originals had a built in punishment for killing children (no one would deal with you... basically making you a leper) after killing 2 kids -------------------- |

what part are you stuck on, dogmeat?
I accidentally skipped over visiting Galaxy Radio by talking to Dr. Lei in Rivet City. Don't think you can do this for the Jefferson Memorial part, though. -------------------- ![]() A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have. |

No, you can't, I haven't even been to Galaxy Radio yet ... and I'm already a level 20.
It all started when I was trying to go find Pinkerton in the bow of Rivet City. It kept freezing up on me, so I decided to try something else. Went on with the main quest, after Dr. Li tells you to go find dad at the Jefferson Memorial. It froze up on me there too. What is rediculous is, I can get close enough to the memorial I can pick the super mutants off with my sniper rifle, but then when I move past a certain point, it just hard-locks my entire 360. I was like "well maybe they'll release a patch for this" So I started exploring the wastes. There is really quite a bit to explore here, honestly. It's at least as big of game world as Oblivion is, not counting the expansions. Anyways, I did all kinds of side quests, and eventually hit the level cap of 20 ... I can no no longer get higher in leves, so I basically have nothing left to do with this character but complete the main quest. I've been all over Bethesda's FO3 forums and I am most definatey NOT the only one having this problem. As of now there has been no official word from Bethesda on a fix for all this, which REALLY fucking pisses me off. Anyways, eventually I "bypassed" having to go to the Jefferson Memorial for the first part of the main quest, because I accidentally found Vault 112, which is where dad was hiding. But, as soon as you complete that part of the quest you have to go right back to the Jefferson Memorial. It's a graphical glitch that is locking the 360 up. As soon as it tries to load some of the "visible" parts of the JM, it locks up cold, like you can see it "half load" some of the scaffolding and piping then it just freezes. I guess I might start a new character, but start a totally evil character ... On my main, the karma rank I have is "The Last Best Hope for Humanity" ... haha. fuck bethesda. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
