i never said he wasnt a good coach. i said that he hasnt done much of his "great coaching" at tech. when he gets a 4th national champtionship and its while he is here at Tech, ill be impressed. Hell, if he could get us to the top 8 I might be impressed. Again, my point is that his great coaching doesnt seem to be happening at tech.

he's brought tech from being mediocre to being slightly above mediocre.
aaron, saying tech has been to the postseason 4 out of the last 5 years is a pretty weak argument. 64 teams in the tournament, another 32 or so in the NIT? isn't that about 75% of all d-1 college basketball teams? not very impressive -------------------- only here to talk sports occationally

he's done two things: get Tech somewhere they hadnt been since '96 (so about 4 or 5 years) and he got Tech to the sweet 16. I dont know. I just expect more from such an "awesome coach"

There are 65 teams invited each year to the NCAA Tournament and another 40 to the NIT... while that may seem like quite a bit, keep in mind there are 327 Division 1 basketball programs in the nation. Less than a third of D1 basketball teams go on to post-season play. Compare that to the NBA where 16 of 30 teams go on to the playoffs, or college football where nearly half (47%) of the 119 D1A teams (56) go on to play in bowls. wow. i had no idea there were that many D-1 teams. i figured it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 125, similar to football
