Women are too emotional for high-stress positions too, I guess.
Fire Palin, Hilary Clinton, every female CEO/Business-person and then relegate the weaker sex to making babies and taking care of the home.

Hell, go ahead and re-institute the rule of thumb. lancifer.gif

Exactly, that's why they never allowed female nurses on the front line. Heck, that's why doctors are mostly male, since women are too emotional to see people dying, just sick people in general. We see blood and we will say gross and faint.

I'm not arguing the politics of women in the workplace. All I will say is that with the way the economy is these days, women have to work. Sometimes, a woman can do a better job than a man. Sometimes not. I'm not all woman's liberation or whatever. I never want a female president, but in the rare instance it boiled down to voting for either Obama or H. Clinton, I would vote for Hillary in a heartbeat. Obama can't play with the big boys. Just wait. He is going to win the election, and all the Democratic kiss asses will have a giant foot in their mouth. I am saying that if women want to put themselves in a war, let them. I am all for women voluntarily joining the armed forces. Don't chose people's morals though. What about all those Mormon women who believe their place is always at home? Are we going to make them go to war too, thousands of miles away from their children? That's silly. Now, I am just waiting for the objection, "well, if we get to chose our own morals, men shouldn't have to go to war either if they have a moral conviction against violence." WRONG. There should have never been a draft during the Vietnam war. Our country was safe. If our country is being personally threatened, then someone has to protect it. I'm not saying my life is any better than the men so I shouldn't get shot at. I am saying, I don't trust our country's well being in the hands of some stupid bitch females, whether they are serving a medical or technical role or not.

You can't contradict yourself more than this even if you had Bush, McCain, and Palin helping you! laugh.gif

You ARE saying women are better than men!...Or at least that "their morals" are more valuable, and should therefore be respected/take priority over, a man's morals.

If our country is being threatened, and there is a draft (of course the Vietnam-era draft was a joke, glad you could point out that obvious point in history) then ALL citizens, regardless of sex/creed/etc. should be called upon to serve in whatever capacity they can.

All or nothing, Goddammit. All or nothing...

Each and everyone of us?

Mormon women are not the only ones with morals and beliefs. There are the Amish, Mennonites, Quakers, Buddhist, and many without affiliated religions who do not believe in fighting. Anyway, chances are the Mormon women, like the others will just fall under conscientious objector, but that doesn't mean they would avoid being drafted. If the Amish can be drafted, anybody can.

Women should not be fighting wars. I already stated reasons besides the emotional aspect why they should not.

i think what spec is saying makes sense, (as usual)

our military only has about a 10% combat force, the rest is support staff. if a draft is needed, women should be drafted to fill those non-combat roles, freeing up males that are active duty and switching them to combat roles and increasing our percentage above 10%. i still don't agree this is totally fair, but it's better to "draft" more men who volunteered for the service, and are ALREADY in the system than some granola eating, sandle wearing hippie, or some emo faggot who thinks his life is the worst ever.

if women are so emotionally and physically unstable, then why the hell have we awarded them equal rights and "fair" treatment?

i say "fair" because women are treated better than any male could hope for... and still bitch about how "unfair" the system is... (substitute women for blacks and i got almost the same arguement on that last sentance)

There a MANY female cops and soldiers already. Include the number women that serve as nurses and doctors... im pretty sure they can handle a drafted position just as well as a man. Pretty sexist to say that women aren't as capable to serve in the military. A women may not be as physically strong, but we aren't swinging battle axes anymore. Women are just as emotionally fit as men, to say otherwise is stereotypically sexist. I've seen just as many bitchy men as women... like spec says, thats why you have psych-exams.

Kind of insulting to all women serving now to say that they wouldn't be just as capable to serve as men. Hell look at vietnam to see how MEN weren't capable to serve as unwilling participants in war. Women would be just as stable/unstable.
