now who's #1. who's #2? 3, 4, 5. 1-6 could all make a case for #1. with the way the sec is probably everyone will have 1 loss at least. usc loses to an unranked team but could still probably make a case for being #1. before this i thought it would be usc and then an argument over the winner of the big 12/sec duking it out for the other national championship spot. now i don't have a clue. a playoff would just solve everything. Easy killer. It's still only week 4. -------------------- ![]() A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have. |

I like a playoff system, but with a top 16 it would mean 4 weeks.

Tech's kicker BLOWS
-------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

True, I think we got next week as a win but after that. Hell, I don't even think next week is a gimmie... It never is when you go to college station. and also here's today's revised AP poll: 1. Texas (39) 6-0 1,599 2. Alabama (26) 6-0 1,582 3. Penn State 7-0 1,492 4. Oklahoma 5-1 1,306 5. Florida 5-1 1,284 6. USC 4-1 1,247 7. Texas Tech 6-0 1,210 8. Oklahoma State 6-0 1,184 9. Brigham Young 6-0 1,131 10. Georgia 5-1 1,081 11. Missouri 5-1 984 12. Ohio State 6-1 908 13. LSU 4-1 893 14. Utah 7-0 834 15. Boise State 5-0 714 16. Kansas 5-1 620 17. Virginia Tech 5-1 540 18. North Carolina 5-1 416 19. South Florida 5-1 397 20. Michigan State 6-1 371 21. Wake Forest 4-1 330 22. Vanderbilt 5-1 258 23. Pittsburgh 4-1 182 24. Ball State 7-0 166 25. California 4-1 115 -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Tech is still ranked 7, even though one team in front of them lost this weekend and three teams have one loss? I fully blame these sensationalist moron sports talk show hosts like Colin Cowherd. It doesn't matter what USC does, they're a better football team according to these dumbasses. USC could drop three straight and Cowherd would still put them in the Top 10 because They have the best athletes in the nation. Having the best athletes does not always equate to having the best team (see: RRS from yesterday). I don't give a shit if USC and OU have more NFL prospects than TTU. The fact is, USC and OU (and Florida) haven't taken care of business and have losses, while Tech is undefeated. Tech should be rewarded as such, just as the teams with losses should be punished. I can understand a one loss SEC team being ranked ahead of an undefeated Big 10 or mid major conference at the end of the season, But week 7? Jesus Christ. I guess now speculation about what could have happened is now more important than what actually happened. Tech Beat every team they've faced, while USC and UF got their ass handed to them by sub .500 teams. I understand having a bad game (as TTU did yesterday), but the good teams have shitty games and still come out on top. But Texas is #1, for the time being. Hook em. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |
