The perfect metaphor for Republicans. Doesn't matter what actually plays out in history, as long as you say you're right and believe it, that all that matters — everyone else will eventually fall in line.

Do you think the ad people really wait until after the debate is over to create these ads? Kinda like how they manufacture all the "World Champion" hats for both teams in the NBA finals and such? Like how there's probably a whole city in Africa of little kids running around with "Knicks, 1994 NBA World Champions" hats.

it would seem common sense to wait until after the event to put the ad into circulation though.
i didn't see eli manning walking around with that superbowl champion hat on before the superbowl.

it's be nice if they waited til at least the debate took place before the started to shovel the shit at people

this makes a candidate (either side) look bad. cause you know, win or lose, that ad is going to run

So, one ad on one page found on the WSJ website = "shovel shit at people"??

Not to mention, I wasn't aware the McCain campaign was responsible for updating the WSJ website. It was probably just some dumbass working for them that put it up too early.

Wall Street Journal / Fox News both owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.
I think that explains plenty.

it was the WSJ, not some random blog out there. i'm sure it gets alot of hits.

i'm some dumbass may have been at fault, but the campaign still would have had to pay for the ad...which is the point i was getting at

Well maybe they paid for it to be put in tomorrow? I suppose if you guys really think it's some conspiracy or purposely done thing that's your right. I just don't really see the advantage to McCain of doing so.

Since we don't know the ad agreement with the WSJ we really do not know what happened... The way it works usually is the campaign ad company sends the different ads to the different outlets and pays them for a certain number of days, hits, views, etc. but they do not tell them which ad to publish until shortly before it is supposed to be put out there. I am sure cmac knows this as he's involved in the web.

It's just like impala's example of having the hats printed before the big game and someone accidentally dropping one somewhere. Is it irresponsible? Absolutely.

Just like it was irresponsible to publish Steve Jobs' obituary... I'm sure there was some Republican conspiracy behind that one. rolleyes.gif

That would be correct except you put in "republicans" instead of "democrats".
