Having just recently gone back to school, I didn't find it to be as much fun as I had hoped. Granted, I was pregnant a good portion of the time, but even before that I was disappointed. A lot of the students were around my age, maybe a tad younger, but because I already had a degree I was kinda in a different world than them. I just wish I wouldn't have had boyfriends my entire time at Tech. They really got in the way of my fun.

If you want good Tech stuff cheap, go to podunk Oklahoma (Lawton) where everybody's a damn OU fan. They had under armor tech hats for $10
 on a side note, I never realized how seriously they take the OU vs UT thing... losers all over the place with upside-down longhorn logos on their trucks. even went into this big surplus store and some dork had turned a cooler upside down that had a longhorn logo on the side... |

I agree with you Chuck about the real world and college. having an engineering degree meant more studying and HW. But I can spend money now and am considering going to Bali next year.

i'm on board with the big boys.
i play as i want to these days, and am setting myself up to be pretty comfortable. College was fun, but buying good beers and a round for my friends is more fun to me than getting shitty on natty on a Tuesday. i'm going back to school in fall 2010 but believe it or not, phd programs are cheap or free when you work at that school or a nearby one so hopefully i won't be adding massively to my loan debt (only around 18k in student loans right now, with two degrees). THESE are the best years of my life. |
