Yeah, I wouldnt even say that you dropped it....just say that the power button sticks and you cant turn it on. It's still under a year (cus i know you didnt buy it when it was $500), so you should still be covered under warranty. Might not hurt to bend the truth a bit LOL
http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ There's a link to make a reservation. |

The Sprint store over by the Whole Foods in North Austin (you know, that huge area of shops across from the Arboretum on 360 and 183) is like that. I HATED that store. You had to be a rich fuck to get any service there.

A place I've never been to without getting completely and utterly lost at Yeah, you can chance it and go there and make the reservation with the concierge working in the store, but then you would most likely have to wait an hour or some stupid amount. It's best to just do it a bit ahead of time from home. I would show up about 15-20 minutes early, cus every time I've gone, they saw me before my appointment time. |

lol that's what I was thinking, but kept quiet at first because I haven't been there in over a year so I thought maybe they built it up more or something. Because the first time I went there a few months back, I had ten drunk retards telling me ten different ways to get there. No one said the obvious "Go on Mopac, flip a bitch on Braker and you'll be there." Plus I'd been drinking and it was night when I tried to find it. They ended up giving me a new phone. Kinda funny how it happened. I read up about replacements for stuck on/off switches and it seemed like it was up to their discretion whether or not to replace it. I was already in a bad mood after waiting 20 minutes at their "Genius bar" (seriously? Pretentious fucks) and praying I didn't get stuck with the emodouche "genius" or the bulldyke "genius." Luckily I got helped by the guy who looked relatively normal. First thing he says to me when I walk up is "you like Death Before Dishonor?" because I was wearing one of their shirts. Yeah it's one of my favorite bands I told him. He looked at my phone, noticed how the aluminum was dented and told me he'd try to get the button unstuck but doubted he could. He came back and said sorry, it isn't covered under warranty because it looked like it'd been dropped. I was bummed but didn't act like a jackass to him. We started shooting the shit about hardcore music for like ten minutes, he told me DBD was his favorite band and they're playing in Austin this weekend (fuck yeah!). After awhile he told me to give him my phone and he'd replace it with a new one, even though he wasn't really supposed to. He said any fan of DBD is cool in my book. So yeah, a $10 hardcore shirt I bought on the internet saved me $400. Yay straightedge hardcore! One question though, I didn't realize all my numbers weren't saved on the sim card and weren't transferable. I actually had to call my roommate at work to get my girlfriend's number cause I never bothered learning it. I have like 6 numbers now. I checked my bill and I guess they stopped including all ingoing and outgoing call logs. Is there any way to check online? If I can see my call logs I can figure out at least 50 or so numbers and whose they are -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

been reading reports that reception is not very good w/the 3g iphone (i.e. not as many bars as they should be getting). anyone seeing that with theirs? Yep, its touch and go. A lot of times it goes to EDGE. I will still get strong download speeds with only 1 or 2 bars on 3G, but in the last day or two I've noticed that the strength is getting better. On Monday while I was at work I only had 2 bars, and now this morning I have a full signal. So I think it is just an initial overload that is being acclimated. |

Did you ever set up your iTunes to Sync with Outlook or any address book with your original phone? If so, then when you Sync your phone with the computer it should load that stuff. |
