I don't see that released by the white house anywhere. If you look at the text that Brokaw quotes in that video, and actually research the source, it shows it's from a 162 page study by the NOAA. Where they got "White House" out of that I have no clue.

NEW YORK - Wall Street has — at least for the moment — shrugged off some of its many concerns and bounded higher thanks to a drop in oil prices.

The Dow Jones industrial average has shot up 276 points to the 11,239 level, its biggest jump in more than three months.

Investors were relieved when crude fell $4.14 to settle at $134.60 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That brought oil's two-day plunge to more than $10.

Wells Fargo & Co.'s decision to boost its dividend is also alleviating some of the market's concerns about the health of banks.

Not to be a skeptic but i'll be happy about it end of day tomorrow if it's still at that price. So far the last few weeks, every time oil drops significantly, it shoots back up the next day because of some oil worker in timbuktu sneezed.

But the market is so volatile right now, it probably will shoot up again.
It would be nice to see it close the week with a continued string of losses though. =)

Supposed Murder Ruled Suicide--Real Life CSI Case

Authorities say a man believed to have been kidnapped and murdered while on his way to Lubbock actually committed suicide. Thomas Hickman--regional manager for Red Lobster-- was headed to Lubbock back in March when he disappeared.
His body was found in a field in eastern New Mexico. He had been shot once in the back of the head. Authorities now say Hickman staged his death to look like murder. They believe he duct taped his own mouth and even tied a gun to several helium balloons to make it float away after he pulled the trigger.

man, I remember the days of $.73/gallon gas. It was during the first summer I had a driver's license too. Damn those were good times.

looks like it dipped again and settled at $129.29. definitely good news but I'm still skeptical. If it can stay at this price or continue to fall for a continuous week I'll start being optimistic . investors will be bailing like crazy.
