Well I wouldnt have posted here that I was looking for a job because
1. I post on here from work a lot, no telling who's watching what I post. 2. I kinda doubt many of you have ties to the type of work I want in Houston. I wasn't really all that dissatisifed with my current job, it's just that this opportunity came up and pretty much presented itself to me and I couldn't turn it down since I'd always wanted to work out there. I was even prepared to take a considerable pay cut to go over there. Turns out their offer was a 4k raise |

Eh, he didn't come right out and say it, but I kinda figured he was at least casually searching for a job, due to a few comments he's made. Then again, I bitch about my job and I'm *not* hunting for one. *shrugs* but you're a woman and bitching makes you happy -------------------- |

what are you going to do for them? it's the ESCG (Engineering and Science Contract Group) SEAS (Scientific, Engineering, and Analytical Support) department at JSC (Johnson Space Center). The gist of it is building, maintiaining, and running any simulation needed for any space flight (both hardware and software). Lots of really neat stuff in there. They have fully enclosed simulators with 5-6 huge projectors each and 30' curved screens. I got to dock the shuttle to the ISS during my interview, and it is really awesome. One of the examples of every day work they gave, was at the time they were working on some new plume models for the thrusters, to see what affects some new thrusters might have on the station when they dock. Will be nice to brush off the calculus and physics and actually use them in my job. Anyhow I'm excited |

Awesome. Congratulations!
-------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

F'n A you basically tell them your life story... filling out all this paperwork:
- all residences for the past 7 years (including residence hall room #s, etc), and names/numbers/addresses of people who knew you at that address. - all work for the past 7 years - i didn't realize we all had a "selective service number". you can find out yours at https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx - 3 non-familiy friends that you didn't list anywhere else who "know you well" etc etc |

Sandia did the same thing. Once nothing obvious shows up, *then* you get to fill out the 7-year history for Secret-level clearance (10 for TS). -------------------- |
