I used to bank with BofA and had the same maintenance fee issues. I just closed my account and it wasn't a big deal. Wells Fargo is complained about often. My manager used to work there as a manager and dislikes them. USAA is a fairly good bank. I know people like to sing their praises. I have been with them since I was 15. I haven't had many problems with them, but my dad believes they are starting to go down in the way of customer service. And yes, he does have first hand knowledge of how they used to be run since he retired from there not long ago. The point is, every bank has flaws to them. Every bank is after your money, if they weren't how would they stay in business? If you want good interest rates, *usually* internet banks are your best bet (such as ING).

It would be such a pain if all we had was USAA, wouldn't it? I mean, they don't have physical banking sites.

I know. :-( They do work with you really well though. They will send you envelopes that are prepaid so you can mail in a deposit. They have the best internet site I have ever seen for a bank. They will even wave ATM fees. So for that, I love them haha.

Actually, thats who I use and I havn't really had any problems with them. Their customer service has always done well by me at least (for instance reversing overdraft fees and such in case of an overcharge or a check not going through in time, etc). The only problem is that I move in a month, and the closest wellsfargo branch is a good 40 minute drive away....

I actually think I am going to get in with a credit union, take out a loan and pay off my credit card, then just set something up with the credit union to take it out of my paycheck.

Some people have problems with them, some don't. I just know more people that have had issues with Wells Fargo and work with several former employees.

Compass sucks my metaphorical nuts. I hate that bank. They offer a credit card, but their online bill system doesn't offer bill pay. Supposedly, in July they are going to upgrade the site to offer bill pay, but the last year of having to drop my payment off or mail it in has been ANNOYING.

Oh and then there was the one time that I had been vomiting every day for a month back when I was in my first trimester. I felt AWFUL. I usually didn't get out of bed until 3 in the afternoon because I would just puke the entire time I was up. Anyways, I knew my bill was due one day so I got up at 2 to take it there. I showed up at 3:15, thinking that the deadline to pay was at 4 p.m. like it is with BofA. No, their deadline to pay was at 3. I missed it by 15 minutes. I get a $39 late charge on my bill FOR 15 FUCKING MINUTES. So, I call and tell them the situation, that I had been really sick, and I had only been late by 15 minutes. they said in so many words, tough shit it was your fault not ours. IT WAS GAYER THAN GAY.
