Dallas cable? Options

What is the cable company for Dallas/Irving? I've been looking online and haven't found anything definitive. Is it Comcast?

Their website isn't that great, but you can package things as much as any other cable company I've dealt with. You get cable and then get a $10 or so discount on internet, as is typical. We have "basic plus" cable service and cable modem service and it runs $102.21 per month (that's including all fees & taxes). Prices may be different in Dallas (we're in Albuquerque), but that's probably a good ballpark estimate.

Why?

Phone company fucks you over move than Comcast.

If already have comcast for cable tv, use them for internet too. It's faster and cheaper.

The nice thing about cable is that there's no contract involved, whereas there is with DSL. Plus I hate with DSL (SBC at least) that they require your phone line to be active for 10 days or so before they'll connect your damn internet. I ended up without internet for 3 fucking weeks when I had SBC when I changed apartments because they disconnected us a week early and then took forever to get things hooked up at the new place.

eh, we've had some bad experiences with them so my opinion is somewhat skewed.

Some people never have problems with their cable others can never get it to work.

You can. Best thing to do is call 1-800-comcast and talk to sales. They have the best info on those packages. You can get a pretty good deal if you get video, internet, and telephony service in one package.

Really, having worked for them, I can tell you that service in the Dallas market isn't that bad. If anyone moves to Chicago though, STAY THE HELL AWAY.

i seriously reccommend FIOS though. mega speeds for only 40/50 bucks, plus you can get tv and phone over it too, just ask 'em.

the local number thing is just so they can tell if you're elligible, try actually calling them and giving them your location. The biggest problem is they don't support all areas, and word has it they won't be providing service to any apartment complexes at all.
