so many stupid people cloud the gun control issue for me
like my brother, who is a deputy, was on vacation and took his off-duty .38 with him. he took off his pants to jump in the pool, and tucked his pistol into his pants folded up on the table. later that day, his friend, grabs the gun while drunk, apparently thinks it is fake despite its weight, and shoots his sister in the face killing her and leaving her 3 kids without a mother. shitty shitty, this was in dallas just last month |

Publicly display this man having his testicles seared off with a hot poker and make it widley known what crimme he committed, then perhaps maybe people will start to get the point. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

That's a great argument... "I just don't like it". If you were on a debate team you'd be a master-debater. I have reasoning: I don't want MY children to be exposed to guns and gun violence. If kids see something on t.v., sometimes they want to act it out. This just provides access to a gun. "ooo looky. that guy has something shiny. I want to play cops and robbers"... There. Reasoning.

Well, if the fucking liberals hadn't bastardized life for the rest of us because they can't control their homosexual cock-lust, our children would be watching cowboys and indian movies like they did back int he 50's and the white guy would always win by killing off as many minorities as possible, and the niggers wouldn't talk back! And there wouldn't be any problems with guns! I'm telling you all this horse shit with guns started about the time they started letting black people vote GAH! FUCKING LIBERALS! -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

yea, i love how idiots keep thinking that by simply making it "illegal" to carry a gun in hosptials and stuff is gonna stop someone from carrying it in there if they want to..... god there wa a youtube video making fun of that, where a criminal tried to rob a convieniece store, the clerk pointed to the "no guns sign" and the criminal walked out, sulking

I guess my reasoning is more for kids than anything. I just don't want my kids around guns at all. It probably will end up being something my husband and I have to discuss a lot though. He inherited a bunch of rifles from his grandfather, and I think he wants to eventually bring them to our house. Currently, they are at his grandma's house. I think he feels differently about the whole gun thing than I do. I just want our kids to be free of guns like I was growing up. Yeah, I lived in a rough area, but my parents never owned a gun. They didn't want me or my brother to find it when we were little and think it was a toy. Kids have grabby hands. They might see someone walk into a store displaying their pistol at their hip and run up and grab it. Doesn't matter how great of a parent you are. Kids are unpredictable.

Kids are unpredictable. well, i can agree with your concern, but my arguement to that is just how many gun related incident happened in the 50's and such? i think the safety issue among kids began when parents started refusing to educate their children on firearms. THEN it becomes a forbidden toy, and thats what makes it dangerous. children should not be hidden from the world, it makes them blind to danger. as a parent you shoudl educate your children on the reality of life in a safe and controlled way, and that to me is how guns should be taught to children. you must teach them they are instruments of death, and not toys. thats the parents responsibility. the true failure of a parent will be when that child IS exposed to a firearm, at a friends house, or some such (because you WILL NEVER GET RID OF GUNS!) and your uneducated child decided to experiment with it. point being, the gun is not the problem, the parent is the problem. -------------------- |

Yeah, I see your point too. Maybe my opinion would be different if my brother was more normal. He would do things without thinking all the time. I'm sure when I have my own kids, and they are "normal" I will see that it's not as big of a concern.

I'm sure when I have my own kids, and they are "normal" I will see that it's not as big of a concern. yea... it's a hard cookie, and not a subject many parents WANT to talk to their kids about. but isn't that the current failure of society? parents not wanting to actually do the teaching to their kids? it's always tv's fault, or the teachers fault, or the music..... but, thats the parents whole reason for being parents. and the reality is, i will not have a house without a gun, due to personal experience of my mother being raped and robbed in our own house when i was 5. so, thats the conundrum. either let my family take the abuse if an incident DOES happen, pray that the house is only robbed. or if the wife IS raped, that they don't kill her and the kids....... or at least give the wife a fighting chance when i am not there to protect her. obviously you can see my reluctance to just throw my family on the mercy of "good" society.... to me there is no choice. there WILL be a gun close for my wife. and she WILL HAVE to know how to use it. and because of that, i will HAVE to teach my children -------------------- |

I kinda have come to the conclusion that this wouldn't bother me if it were for one thing. That is ego. People get into shouting matches much easier nowadays, road rage, check out lines, etc, etc. How many times will this happen:
1. guy B cuts in front of guy A in line 2. guy A gets pissed and they get into a shouting match 3. guy B moves his hand in the general direction of his gun 4. guy A sees this and puts his hand on his gun 5. guy B sees this and unsnaps his holster 6. guys C, D, E, and F see them both and unsnap their holsters 7. use your imagination for what happens next |
