Actually it's a BA (at least mine was), and I had job offers that were pretty nice with just that (legal researcher in a law office here in town, other desk/research jobs)...though I've decided to devote my time to other endeavors.
It's also a good "prep" degree for Law School, which I will be taking the LSAT here in the next few months.

yeah philosophy is a good prep for law school too. I just don't want to do law school so meh. I like what I learned though. I find it to be practical. It's just that employers see philosophy and think psychology. Honestly, I think a bachelor's in psychology is more useless than philosophy but that's just my opinion from what I have gathered. I think that because so many people have psychology degrees and there are hardly any jobs that want someone with specifically a bachelor's in psychology. I personally know a lot of people with psychology degrees and not a single one is working in his/her field. They seem upset about this too. I just wanted a degree that would get my foot in the door at jobs that required a degree in any field. Journalism was the degree I got once I figured out what doors I wanted to be stepping into.

If you mean philosophy is a good prep for law school because it provides a high gpa to match with your lsat... then you are correct. Other than that... yeah... no. Same with political science. Honestly, the best "prep" for law school is being able to write an essay very well, as well as reason out shit on a test like the proffessor wants. Im an editor for a law review at my school and i've yet to write an essay worthy of an "A" (save for Scalia's class)... but then again i am not a very smart person (comparatively with who i go to school with).

Oh and any easy degree that you can get an 4.0 in, no matter what it is in, is not worthless if you are just wanting to apply to law schools. They mainly look at gpa (disregarding what in), and combine it with the LSAT.

yeah, i have to agree. I know I did another undergrad degree, but I never really noticed how useful my degree was until I went back to school. I had an obvious advantage over other students. Not to mention, in my mass comm law class, we talked a lot about philosophy since law goes hand in hand was the reasoning and argumentation associated with law. Heard of Hume, Locke, or Rawls? Admittedly, though, I took a philosophy of law class at Tech and hated it more than any other class. That class bored the crap out of me, but I think it was more the professor than anything.

I just woke up. Give me a break. Oh that and my spell check on firefox has been acting retarded lately. Not that I can't spell, but I have become very reliant on Word catching my spelling errors. Yeah... I am one of those people. I'm more of a punctuation and grammar buff, but you don't see me going around correcting everybody now do you? I see correcting spelling on here just as pointless/annoying honestly. That is unless someone is frequently putting "your" instead of "you're." That annoys the hell out of me as it is something that should have been learned in the second grade.

ive found quite a few jobs for people with just a BA in psychology. very easy to get work. i dont think its possible to search online for jobs that have a BA in philosophy as a requirement. a BA/BS in psychology typically leads to graduate school. a few retards in the mix that dont know what to do with their lives? there are people like that in every major.

you can't even get a job working for a state government handing out wellfare checks with a bachelor's in psychology. I also know this for a fact. 8 years ago when I worked as a network tech for the State of Wyoming DOE, they wouldn't even consider people for "counselor" positions unless they had a master's degree if their BA was in sociology, psychology, etc ... and, even if they did have a master's degree, they started out at the same pay I was getting as a 19 year old kid with no college, but I knew how to fix computers.

Yeah that pretty well sounds like as worthless of degree to get as I can think of.
