when i had sprint, i had the same f*cking problem! i would wait in the lubbock store for a freaking hour before i could talk to anyone, even if it was a simple matter. their customer service is HORRIBLE.

I have had pretty slow customer service from them at the stores, but otherwise haven't really had any problems. I just don't care to be on contract with anyone for anything, and also think it's ridiculous the price we have to pay to have a cell phone + data service. I would switch providers in June when my plan is up but I don't know that I'll find anything better. They're all crooks IMHO.

I've never had good customer service from Sprint either, but I'm under my mom's plan with her 25% off corporate discount. I'd have to say the service is pretty good. I'm finding I've got reception in places that other people don't.
They also fucked me with this new phone activation thing. Every company did it or still does it, but I caught it on my bill. I can't remember the amount, but if you buy a new phone in person, they charge you $36(I think), even though it's not a new line activation. If you order a phone over the phone it's $18, and if you do it over the web, they don't charge you. That crap was never disclosed to me. Filed a formal complaint to the FCC, and I got my money back. Depending on the service required, you can sign up for their SERO plan, and it's the cheapest and probably the best plan out there. Just google SERO. -------------------- Beers that I have had, updated July 5th, 2009: 1,548

i liked sprints phones, and the service plans.
but i hated with a passion all of their stores, and their people. alays trying to weasle me into signing a new contract. i took my phone to be repaired (WAS EVEN PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE EVERY MONTH) AND THEY TRIED TO SAY THEY WOULDN'T FIX IT UNLESS I SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT. fuck that, i made a scene, and demanded the boss come out and explain to me why i was being refused a service from my current contract thats active. they ended up fixing it for me, but i know the guy didn't get in trouble. and seriously, has anyone had any success with their telephone customer service? i have never, ever been able to get anything useful out of that crock of shit. -------------------- |

I'll be switching to Verizon soon. Haven't really had any huge problems with AT&T, but my boyfriend and I both hardly use our phones and want to get on a low family plan. He's got Verizon and I would get 20% with my work discount, so woo. New contact for me, but whatever... I need a new phone anyway, since the one I have (cheap-ass Samsung) is a POS. Samsung is good, but this particular phone is crap.

Samsung phones IMO are very hit and miss. The phones that my husband and I have are Samsungs, and they are by far the best phones I have ever used. This Sanyo phone I used to have with Sprint about 2.5 years ago was a close second. There was amazing menu options on the phone, and this cool feature called Manner Mode. On the other hand, I had a Samsung phone before that was by far the worst phone I ever had. The LG Chocolate by Verizon also sucked ass, but their new version of the phone is supposed to be so much better.
I think it just depends on the phone. Kinda like their tv's... People rave about Samsung DLPs but I have a smaller Samsung tv that I have had consistent problems with since the very day I bought the thing. I ALWAYS read user reviews about cell phones before I buy. Every cell phone has their downside, and users will post their complaints. I read a lot and decipher what problems I could live with. I only read reviews on two products: cell phone and cars. Everything else like speakers and tvs and stuff, I am not too concerned about. You buy a car or cell phone, though, and you are stuck with it for (at least) two years unless you pay out the ass. |

Last phone broke after the warranty was up, but before I was eligible for a contract renewal and upgrade... so I went for the cheapest phone at the store that didn't immediately look like complete crap. Well whoops. This time I'm doing some heavy research before buying anything. -------------------- |

When I had Sprint, the second my contract was up I started paying for phones out of pocket. I didn't want to resign a contract with them. I paid $500 for one of my phones. Granted, it was a badass phone.
