I am more of a high quality, HD, surround sound, etc type of guy, but if you use netflix and dont want to wait on the mail, this seems like a pretty neat option:
http://gizmodo.com/389698/first-netflix-st...mited-downloads

Box costs $100, connects to your high speed internet (wireless or wired, although wired would prob be better). If you have a netflix account costing $9 or more per month, you basically get unlimited access to all 10,000+ netflix movies available. It has HDMI connectors and they claim they'll add HD functionality later.

Not really my cup of tea, but I think it'd be pretty awesome for a lot of people.

Only word of warning would be that it might be a good idea to give it some time and see how people's experiences are with it. (i.e. does the movie stutter, does internet use affect it, etc).

I would wait until their streaming selection is bigger. Unless I misunderstood, this doesn't work with their entire selection, just their instant play stuff. You can already watch streaming movies through them with your computer, so if you have a laptop to hook up to the tv, just do that.

10,000 titles according to the couple of articles I've seen. not sure how many they have available on their site or via actual DVD though.

Apparently they have 90k+ titles generally. So 11% are available streaming. That meshes fairly well with what I see in my queue... 108 titles, 11 available with the instant-view feature. But the streaming stuff is mainly older titles, not new releases. If a studio-acceptable DRM solution for Macs ever comes around, I'll just use my laptop to watch the streaming stuff, otherwise I might get this box.
