I just think you really have to look at it from the cop's perspective. How did they know he didn't have a weapon? How did they know he wasn't under the influence of some drug?

Yeah, I mean, that's true. I seriously think it boils down to whether the kid was actually having the seizure at that moment or if he had just finished having one. Like I said, it's pretty obvious when a person is having a seizure. Afterwards, though, people vary in their behavior. Many epileptics won't remember both the seizure and a while after it over with. If they do remember any of it, it is very faint. My brother can't recall a thing for the 10-15 minutes he is having a seizure or the hours afterwards. He says he "had a bad dream"
Also, would you really want to tase someone who is overdosing? I mean, they are already having serious life-threatening effects on their body. |

i believe this is a mixture of both accounts. family bitching about their "delicate little baby" and wanting free money, and the police overstepping a little.
the mother claims she "only wants an apology" but at the same time... QUOTE Dwyer sought the advice of Denton lawyer Rocky Haire, who said he has been trying to work with Corinth police for an out-of-court resolution with no luck so far. sounds like a settlement to me. and the fact a lawyer is trying to do that means to me he has shakey or little ground to pursue the case. this news article is also very biased against the police. from the very beginning it's begging for sympathy points. -------------------- |

Like I said, it's pretty obvious when a person is having a seizure. Not that I'm defending the cops, cause I'm not, but to someone who has never seen a person having a seizure they might not have a clue what's going on. When I was dating Erica she had a seizure in the garage...the only reason I knew she had a seizure is because I knew she was epileptic. Otherwise it looked like she'd OD'd or something -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

well it sounds like when they're having the seizure they're curled up in a ball on the ground shaking... but its the after effects that might seem similiar to the effects of drugs?

well it sounds like when they're having the seizure they're curled up in a ball on the ground shaking... but its the after effects that might seem similiar to the effects of drugs? Eyes roll back in their head, they start foaming at the mouth like they have rabies, they fall to the ground and usually end up in the fetal position and convulse. The only way you can help them is getting them to the ground safely so they don't bust their head open. A lot of people will tell you stick your finger in their mouth to prevent them from swallowing their tongue. Not recommended, unless you want to live the rest of your life with 9 fingers. They usually "wake up" delusional and have no recollection of having a seizure. Erica asked me what the fuck she was doing laying on the garage pavement and I had to explain to her what happened. She was groggy and not really responsive to too many questions. She spent the rest of the day resting in bed. Apparently seizures are very taxing physically. This is just from being around one person who had one seizure so I'm not an expert, although the research I did seems to back up what I saw as the norm. Regardless, if I saw someone having a seizure and it was my first time seeing someone having one, my initial reaction would be it's a coke/speed/meth overdose. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

the kid already had a siesure when he hit the cops. Yes the cops shouldn't of tazed him as much, but they called them then bitched at what they did.
