So its been announced today that Tech is looking into building an all faiths chapel on the campus. It looks like it will all be financed privately. How do y'all feel abou this?

as long as there are no requirements placed on students, i don't have an issue with it.

I get the feeling that it will end up being used most by faiths that are a minority here. Look at how many churches there are just down Broadway (First Christian, 1st Baptist, St. Elizabeth's, First United Methodist, Church of Christ all there in the same area)...then try and find a mosque or a synagogue. I think it could be great for those students who don't have a definite place in this town to worship they way they feel they need to.

believe it or not, this will prolly be just the loophole some of my clients need to avoid being arrested.... i've gotten several people who've been arrested "loitering" on texas tech property, trying to pick up college chicks.

Sounds to me just like a moneymaker for whoever is building it. For weddings and such. Doesn't sound like some kinda place where people will be worshipping all the time.
