Ferries scare me a bit too.....
I rode the one that runs from New York to Vermont a few times, and everytime I was thinking, "oh dear lord, im gonna die an icy icy death....and there's no old Victorian furniture for me to float on" |

when i was young we went on a caribbean cruise using Princess....it was pretty fun and a nice ship

Our honeymoon cruise was on Carnival out of Galveston. Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel. Like Jimbo said, you can test drive before you buy, in a sense. You also get to pick your own stuff to do in port, so if you don't want to spend the day in a bar you can make your own plans. The ones who excessively party on ships like that are the ones who PLAN to do so, not because there's nothing else to do.
Jason's family did an Alaskan cruise on Princess about 5 years ago. They really enjoyed themselves from what I hear. www.cruisecritic.com was such an amazing resource while we were planning our honeymoon. Boards broken down by company, by ship, by itinerary, etc. Lots of money-saving tips as well as insider info that you may not find on cruise company websites. -------------------- Forget regret
