when something is true eventually people have to do something about the nay sayers. just like in the south people had to finally run the KKK out of political positions (tehe)

btw you all enjoying the Climate Change PSA's on every major network and cable station? for example the ones with newt gingrich and nancy polosi saying its time to work together against global climate change

hmmm.... so you're taking a moral issue (the KKK in power) and comparing it to something that has nothing to do with morality? I'm sure in the near future the definition of morality will include something along the lines of "one who takes care of the environment".

Either way, I don't think it's been accepted as the truth. Silencing the naysayers is impossible, I'm sure this guy will keep on giving his position somewhere and I'm sure there will continue to be people who do not fully buy into the hype, especially as more and more evidence comes out that shows climate change is not what everyone says it is.

I could care less about the climate change PSAs, what makes me laugh are the commercials touting "saving the planet" by buying some gadget or product that I could actually get a lot cheaper by using common sense. These commercials further my idea that this whole thing is $$$ driven and not actually concerned environmentalists.

I try to limit my driving, I get paper sacks (I do see plastic as a problem), and I try to limit my electricity usage. Why? Because I'm cheap.

What I want to know, is what is the solution to the problem Test? With the technology we have right now, what is the solution? Ethanol is proving my prediction, that it will be too costly and will overrun the food supply.

I've already asked her this and had her answer it several times. "Just be more efficient!" Duh. Come on man just do better. DUH! rolleyes.gif

I'm efficient. So I guess the real question is, am I a global warming believer? HA!

To me, efficiency saves money, people are into saving money. It has nothing to do with the environment except for the guy advertising a "safer" cleaner for $19.99 a bottle.

did you know it actually takes more production time to build a paper sack than the cheaper plastic ones? a good choice for you would be to buy a reusable grocery tote!

Then where would I put my cat's litter when I throw it away? What would I burn to get my coals going for my BBQ? I re-use those paper sacks for a lot of stuff.

So what are you more worried about, production time or waste?

I have a couple of reusable totes, I use them from time to time but if I'm on my way home from work and stopping at the grocery store (look at that, efficiency) I don't always have them with me.

Oh and the peons comment, that screams "look at me, look at me, I can save more of the earth than you, you heathen". Some people have religion, others have the environment I guess.

If grocers and stores were really concerned about the environment (instead of pretending) they would give away reusable totes and eventually get rid of paper and plastic and if you don't have anything to carry your groceries in, too bad.

No, not really. I don't get riled up easily.

Most of this stuff makes me laugh.

And I'm all for being smart, not for buying into the hype of climate change and saving the planet. So no, we're not really on the same side. My motivation for doing "earth friendly" things is saving money.

You're not riling anyone up. And perhaps your tips aren't better? Like I said, if I didn't get paper bags at the grocery store, I wouldn't have anything to put my cat litter in when I clean it out. Should I go buy some plastic bags for that? Should I go purchase a newspaper when I need to burn something to start up my charcoals? Or how about just some hundred dollar bills... that's what it seems the treehuggers want us to do...

I see ... sorta like how Christianity had the crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and on and on and on ...? Nope, no similiarity there. We have SCIENCE on our side now rolleyes.gif

And no, I'm not enjoying them at all. The only reason the right side of the aisle is going along with this is because of politics. It has nothing to do with them, or the Democrats for that matter, giving a FUCK about climate change or no climate change, man made, cow made, space zombie made, whatever.

The republicans have had to concede that the socialists have done such a good job whipping the public into a scared frenzy over the course of the last 30-40 years that they effectivley can't speak of reason whatsoever on this subject for fear of killing their political careers. Look at Bush - He's actually tried to have some form of reason and logic behind his actions dealing with this subject, and he's effectivley been burned at the stake for mereley suggesting that things like the Koyoto treaty, etc, were misguided.

Pretty much from this point in time on, anyone that doesn't comform to the "Relegion of Environmental Zionism" or whatever the hell it is has absolutley no chance in hell of ever getting elected into office, and it has NOTHING to do with science or facts ... it's based purley on the emotional "feel good" response of peope who believe everything the news prints.

He adds that NASA was also quick to point out that such natural phenomena should not confuse the issue of manmade greenhouse gas induced global warming

hey guess what. same scientist says Global Warming is a man made problem. isnt that what you guys still dont believe?

QUOTE
Says NASA: "Natural, large-scale climate patterns like the PDO and El Niño-La Niña are superimposed on global warming caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases and landscape changes like deforestation. According to Josh Willis, JPL oceanographer and climate scientist, ‘These natural climate phenomena can sometimes hide global warming caused by human activities. Or they can have the opposite effect of accentuating it.'"

Yeah Cat of course he'll say that. Any scientist that doesn't agree with man-made global warming gets fired now.
