I'm kinda taken back that your truck holds that much in blue-book value. A lot of trucks depreciate in value super fast.

depends on the truck. single cab short wheelbase V6 I-just-turned-16 pickups don't hold a lot of value, but larger, crew cab V8 4WD pickups in good shape hold value very well.

You're right.

I don't know why I listened to my dipshit roommate. He wrapped his suburban around a tree drunk at 3 am last weekend and it's totalled. He told me his '99 burban with 200k miles on it had a KBB value of $8k. He estimated mine at around $13.5k. I didn't bother checking till now and the trade in value of mine is around $8500. At least the PPV is around $11.5k, which I'll probably be doing.

He's gonna get a rude surprise when he gets a check for several thousand less than $8k. No way in fuck a ten year old suv with 200000 miles on it is worth anywhere near my truck

yeah, i was gonna say, I mean your truck is nice but I just didn't think it was gonna be blue-booked that high. A '99 suburban with 200k miles on it...yeah, he will be lucky if he gets 4k for that imo

ya...just looked it up. A decked out, top of line engine, 99 suburban with that number of miles is work $6700. That's if it has leather, the best engine, is in good condition, has alloy wheels, etc.

What a dumbass

I'm planning on keeping the truck I have now for quite awhile ... Can't get a big block anymore sad.gif

With that said, my next vehicle is gonna probably be a Pontiac Grand Prix ... I've always been partial to those cars.

Personally I'm not very impressed with BMW's ... I think they're over-rated....

Uh oh.

I mentioned to my grandmother that I wanted to buy a new car and she said she'd give me $15k to help.

I'm torn. On one hand, having an extra $15k would put me at the $45k range and I could start looking at some real nice stuff. On the other hand, I really don't want financial help with this. This will be the first auto I buy outright with my own money. Even the truck I'm selling is in my name, since I bought it from my mom after my dad died (albeit at a hugely discounted price). It's kind of a pride thing

Fuck it, it's 15 grand and it's free. Anyone know if a nice used NSX for sale? Fuck that would be awesome to drive around.
