Don't wear a bunch of metal when going to a place where you know you're going to be scanned by a metal detector? Yeah, but is a metal detector really going to detect everything? No. I walked through the detector the other day with a metal pocketknife and a my cell phone. So much for metal detectors. If the end result is that they just pat everyone down, then so be it, just pat every one down. Just stop making it into a circus and trying to make it appear that they are ensuring "security". -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Well I agree with you that its kinda dumb and probably fruitless, but you wouldn't have had any right to pitch a fit if they had found the pocketknife on you and asked you to remove it. |

My husband has nipple rings. I could see us going on a flight and him forgetting to take them out. It's easy for him to get them out though. In fact, I know he has flown since getting them pierced in December. I'll have to ask him if he had to take them out. They just unscrew though; its not like he needs pliers. Plus, he is a guy. It's acceptable for them to be seen without a shirt. I think the issue here isn't that she was asked to remove them... it was how she was asked and where she had to remove them...in public, behind a screen. The fact that TSA officials were snickering at her too made matters worse.

they sometimes feel the front part of your bra for a wire if you say that or if it sets it off

http://www.tsa.gov/evolution/innovation.shtm Since this is the direction the TSA is going, I definitely think we need to do something. My favorite part is the red dot for "composure benches"... What do I need composure for? The Israelis are able to conduct amazing security and they don't have any of that crap. You read the USA article too? -------------------- Southern Rock, beer and bears!

You read the USA article too? No. There was an article on this? I just browse the TSA website from time to time to see what garbage they're coming out with next. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |
