You said "Lakers w/o Gasol", I said "Rockets w/o Yao", which you scoffed at, implying Gasol > Yao. Show me why you believe this. Yes you are. Your first on topic comment in this thread was crying about "Lakers w/o Gasol". All you've said in the thread was talking about how much better the Lakers are "if" Gasol is in. That is hypothetical. If you really want to avoid the hypothetical, then lets look at the reality. The Rockets have won the series over the Lakers so far, 2-1. Rockets beat the Lakers by 12 on Sunday. The Rockets have a better record and lead the west. Maybe that changes in the playoffs or even tonight, who knows. But if you want to talk reality the Rockets are the better team right now, despite whatever you watch on ESPN news all day. You don't know for sure that Gasol or Bynum will be playing in the playoffs. Congratulations. Five good players != a good team. Watch the Olympics lately? Rockets bench scored 59 against the Lakers. I'd take them any day over the Lakers bench. Well so far in the season the Rockets have won the series w/the Lakers 2-1. Your reading and comprehension skills are piss poor at best I tried bolding certain parts, I tried repeating myself, nothing seems to register with you. How about this: I think if the Lakers and Rockets face off in the playoffs, LA will win in 6. I'll throw anywhere from $5 to $15k on it if you're interested. Even odds -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

so, through the 3rd quarter, my impressions of the rockets are that they can be beat easily with an inside presence and by taking t-mac out of the game. that, and the celtics are damn good.

Your reading and comprehension skills are piss poor at best Yay more of this pointless bullshit waste of my time to read. I tried bolding certain parts, I tried repeating myself, nothing seems to register with you. The part you bolded said that you weren't talking about hypothetically which team is better when all starters were healthy. That is in fact exactly what you argued with me. You mentioned the "hypothetical" of how well the Lakers might have played the rockets w/Gasol. How about this: I think if the Lakers and Rockets face off in the playoffs, LA will win in 6. Hmm... so you come in here talking smack about how you think the Lakers are so much better and how they'd beat the Rockets in the playoffs, and now call it in 6? That's a pretty close series for someone so sure of himself. I'll throw anywhere from $5 to $15k on it if you're interested. Even odds I don't bet big money on sports. I think it's pretty stupid and foolish. You can try to look all big and bad posting your cash in a pic on a message board and threatening stupid ass bets you'd never make anyways. Trust me, it doesn't make you look any cooler, it doesn't make anyone respect you, or think you have some kind of swami sports knowledge. If you really would bet me that kind of money on some basketball games, you truly have some priorities to re-adjust in your life. But I couldn't care less honestly. I'm just a simple guy that has pride in my hometown teams, and defends them when people talk smack. I don't really understand you guys need to try to belittle the Rockets when they just accomplished something which has happened only one other time in the history of the NBA. Oh and by the way, the Rockets lost to the best team in the NBA tonight. Shucks, now they're 26-2 of their last 28. |

There is no fucking way I would bet that kind of money on the Lakers beating the Rockets. I think the Rockets would win it in 5 if they faced each other. The Lakers have been on a steady decline over the past couple of years and have been losing early on in the playoffs if I remember correctly. The Rockets would take it.

the Rockets appear to have a HUGE weakness with their paint defense.
Bynum and Gasol. nuff said. Kobe doesn't even have to show up. Lakers in 5. (i hope they play in the playoffs now, or this argument is pointless) -------------------- Don't sweat the petty, pet the sweaty.

the Rockets appear to have a HUGE weakness with their paint defense. Well duh, not having your 7'5" guy kinda ruins your post game Bynum and Gasol. nuff said. Kobe doesn't even have to show up. Lakers in 5. you're just making the same comments Will did.. it's hilarious. "Kobe doesn't even have to show up", and yet you think the Rockets take 2 games... |

you're just making the same comments Will did.. it's hilarious. "Kobe doesn't even have to show up", and yet you think the Rockets take 2 games... It's not just us who thinks that. Colin Cowherd, Stephen A Smith, Mike Tirico, Rick Reilly, and most other sports commentators agree. You know, guys who study and write about sports for a living. Guys who are a bit more qualified than some biased Rockets fan sitting at his cubicle posting on a TTU message board And cmac is right. Even with the tv on mute Stephen A Smith is still fucking loud -------------------- ![]() ![]() |
