Obama is just full of shit, through and through....
The pastor spoke about Obama being an underpriviledged black man.....right....being a millionaire with a wealthy lawyer wife is just SO underpriviledged. |

the thing impala posted about slavery is pretty interesting. black americans need to take a hint from other ethnicities/nationalities and stop blaming the current people for the past. of course there are still racial tensions and problems, but please don't bring up the slavery card.
i dont know why obama doesn't just identify himself as biracial. i mean, that's what he is. there are a lot of people who can identify with that. it's not like he has to choose if he's white or black....he can be just be both/neither/whatever. -------------------- ![]() |

Um, I know my family and I don't agree with the Priest that baptized my brother, me, and my dad and married my parents. But he just so happened to be the priest of the parish.
And a black sermon...psht, he also listened to Reverend Claude Black who is a pretty bad ass old man. |

who fuckin cares if you don't care, no need to post in the thread or continue reading it. the thing impala posted about slavery is pretty interesting. black americans need to take a hint from other ethnicities/nationalities and stop blaming the current people for the past. of course there are still racial tensions and problems, but please don't bring up the slavery card. i dont know why obama doesn't just identify himself as biracial. i mean, that's what he is. there are a lot of people who can identify with that. it's not like he has to choose if he's white or black....he can be just be both/neither/whatever. yeah, "Forgive The Dead" would be a hell of a catchy bumper sticker |

And a black sermon...psht, he also listened to Reverend Claude Black who is a pretty bad ass old man. the preacher/priest/minister/whatever isn't supposed to be saying GD in a sermon. He isn't supposed to be preaching bigoted hateful messages. He's supposed to teach the message of God's word to his congregation, and help them in their daily lives as Christians. Step out of your own little world for 5 minutes and realize that your precious candidate might in fact not be perfect. It's sad that you have to make up some excuse about "not agreeing" with your priest. What message did he preach that you don't agree with? |

I am sorry, but first there was Donnie McClurkin, and now there's this Pastor....
How many times are we gonna give Obama a "Get Out of Hate" Free card? You can distance yourself all you want from someone, but merely associating and TOLERATING people who spout hatred is just as good as those words coming out of your own mouth. You're doing NOTHING to stop it. It seems to me that Obama does a VERY good job of snaking out of his little messes, and the American public is SO DESPERATE for something different, that they're willing to say, "Oh, all right!" In an interview Obama said that this guy's sermons are different from a Klansman speaking at a public rally....in my opinion, the end result is the same despite the methods....HATE HATE HATE. Those people walk out of that sermon thinking one thing...."hate the white man...all white people think they're above us." He said Hillary has never been called a nigger.....well, guess what....she's been called a BITCH and a CUNT plenty of times....and the word nigger is in no way more derogatory than words like bitch, cunt, faggot, etc. They're all the same. |

no, the people that he surrounds himself may not be perfect. And no one is perfect. He is just a man. Come on now. How many people do you know that are close to you that spew hateful stuff. I know of a few candidates out there that call Barack a 'mallate'... which is just the same as the n word. Now I refuse to talk to those people.

He doesn't declare his disagreement with people like McClurkin and this other guy UNTIL he's had it come out publicly. I mean, come on...this guy was his "spiritual advisor" and was working on his campaign.
We all have our prejudices....but Obama seems to align himself with people who are VERY vocal about theirs. I am sorry, but I can't vote for someone who has attached himself to TWO people (that we know of at the moment....doubtless there are more in hiding) who spout anti-gay rhetoric. I may as well vote for McCain. I know Hilary aint perfect, but I don't have people on her campaign ready to have me stoned to death or put in conversion therapy. I would vote for Nader if it would have any effect, but voting for Nader would be giving the Presidency over to the Republicans. |

If Hillary gets our nomination, I may vote for Kat Swift. She's running under the Green Party.

My issue is that he stands behind this man. Yes it's respectable but it also shows that you have some sort of alignment with him. In his speech about it he said that he wouldn't abandon the guy just as much as he wouldn't abandon his bigoted grandmother. So is it ok to say racist remarks? To "ignore" such activity is to condone it, at least in my opinion.
The other thing that is on my mind is Obama's thoughts towards the entire Don Imus debacle in which he said that Imus should be fired and he'd never appear on his show again. To me that means Obama believes Imus is a racist or meant those remarks as racist and feels that the network should disassociate itself from him (by firing him). So, is he saying he backs what this pastor says but will never hire him? -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |
