Wow, just an amazing game, tons of content, great graphics. Only have 2 controllers so far but thats still just as badass as expected. If you own a Wii, this game should be a must buy imho.

It is freaking awesome. I think Nintendo is still working the bugs out of the online play because it's not working for me. I went into Gamestop at 1:30pm on Sunday, and there were at least a dozen copies left on the shelf.

I haven't tried today, but I think they're still working the bugs out of the online play. I haven't been able to get it to work.

bugger

Well, some first-hand accounts from a SB veteran:

Lots oftweaking has been made. Shiek kicks a lot more ass than I remember, pikachu is a bit harder to finanngle, and Samus' screw attack is still FTW

Some of the new characters are fun, Wario and meta knight are kinda meh. Ike freakin kicks ass. He's like Marth but with twice the strength and not as bitch as Roy was. The pokemon trainer is actually kinda sweet despite the pokemon relation XD Squirtle owns all.

I haven't got all the unlocks yet but I've been playing through the subspace campaign cause it seems to be unlocking more than some of the other modes thus far. It is long, however, and really tedious. Not the best platformer they could have made for the game, but still pretty neat since it's like an expanded adventure mode with actual plot.

And instead of getting random-grab bag trophies like in melee, there's actually a game where you have to shoot/roll coins at all kinds of targets. I have a million and a half stickers already it seems like and the trophies, as always, are awesome.

I'm really disappointed with Olimar, he's kinda weak although the pikmin do have limited DoT abilities. The new challenges are short and kinda lame :/

Overall, superb, the new characters add a lot more variety(although some are repeated mechanics from previous characters, just mixed up a bit, King Dedede combines DK, Kirby, and Yoshi. Pit is like Kirby, Link, and Marth). The returning characters still feel new and fun to play, and the whole package is a lot more cohesive.

Now I need to test the online bit and see where that takes me. I'm curious about the random player matchups, but chances are good I'll just get extremely pissed at the whole new range of exploits people are discovering, I'm sure.

THe game kicks ass...

Adventure mode is exciting (mainly the cutscenes) but the fighting is a little monotonous...i get tired of killing the same enemy a million times

Online play is fucking amazing. This was the one thing I was looking forward to with this game and dammit they delivered.

Unlocked everything character-wise.

And I take back what I said about Meta Knight, he's frickin awesome.

Still haven't gotten around to the online bit. I found out that it's not glitched, it's just been bombed with match requests. It's like the olden days of AOL.

Anyone here have a modded wii? Does the game work? I want to pick it up, but I've heard reports that many first gen wiis are getting "disc errors", and there's conspiracy that nintendo is trying to replace them with newer units upon the system's return. I'm scared to do this because i modded it, voiding my warranty. I don't mind losing the chip, but I at least want a system returned.

A lot of them are getting disc errors. I didn't know it was first gens though. Makes sense. If you send it off, they will in fact fix the problem (I heard by sending a whole new unit). I wouldn't worry about the fact that you modded it. Just send it off anyway. The worst they can do is send it back. Plus, if you have a first gen wii, isn't the warranty up already? The game runs just fine on both the Wii's I have here at my apt. One of them was bought in May and the other I think sometime in November, but not sure.
