You ever tried working on a 4th gen? Stick with the 2nd gen. I totally agree, 4th gen is horribad when it comes to actually getting work accomplished. However our school's mechanics shop which is literally right next door to us, the body shop class, has all the software, a mustang gladiator series dyno, hand held tuners, software for more accurate tuning, tools, lifts, etc etc. I have access to everything but the dyno for free at any time. All I need is to sign for the parts and I can take them with me, just being responsible for them if any damages occur obviously. I really wanna finish that 80, but after figuring out costs for things they both need/might need, I've determined that I wont have the 80 finished, but the 97 will be a fucking beast after I'm done for the same money. 550-600hp at the rear wheels, on pump gas, no nos or superchargers or any of that shit, plus I will be able to use the ac and all that still. This will be my 3rd 4th gen to own, 2nd to customize. i'll post pics if your interested in another thread once I see it. -------------------- ![]() |

You would most definatley have to increase the bore size, stroke it, and then you'd also have to run such a wild ass cam the thing would only be good for a drag car.....oh yeah, and on pump gas? Realistically if you're gonna do an LT1 build on pump gas with no power adder I'd shoot for 500 crank horsepower. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

It's already a 383 Stroker, grantelli MAF 82mm (yeah i know a bit overkill),BBK twin 58mm throttle body, eagle forged crank, long tube pacesetter headers, keith black pistons, aluminum heads. I'm gonna port and polish the heads, put the LT4 intake and cam kit in + roller rockers, and tune it. Aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 posi, hotchkis suspension. AFter all this, 600 is resonable, dont get me wrong, anything from 500-600 will be excellent! The only thing I dont like about it is that its an automatic, and yes, for hp, those suck, but i'll either throw a nice stall + shift kit and all that good stuff in it to beef it up, or if I still have the money I might throw another T-56 in there with a decent clutch. -------------------- ![]() |

I stil think you're expecting too much if you intend to be able to drive it to the track. I'd believe 500 "true streetable" horsepower out of an LT1->LT4 stroker conversion, but not 600 RWHP ... I don't even know anyone making that kind of power with LS1/2 superstrokers on pump gas ... -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
