Well, when you consider that the recidivism rate in TX is around 80%, I would imagine it would pay for itself in the long run. So you have no idea how much it would cost to provide all 2.3 million inmates with a dog, along with all of the logistics of it, and you assume it would pay for itself. Gee why didnt anyone think of this before! |

So I get criticized for mentioning I'm pregnant in a lot of threads (its a boy btw!!! For my admittedly terrible memory, I don't recall anywhere besides this thread that I've mentioned it where it was off the topic. And it actually helps me with my point here, that people are just trying to "wow" (haha pun intended) us with numbers. You guys who gasp at these numbers seem easily taken by percentages and big numbers, and much less likely to just chalk it up to the fact that there are bad people out there that are going to do bad things. And that it shouldn't be anyone's responsibility to rehabilitate them but themselves. shut up impala. you're the biggest bullshit artist on these boards. you try to hide your illogical and over generalized answers behind pretty words and looping sentances. when you are defeated in an arguement, you completely ignore what was said, and try to pick out a single PART of a sentance that isn't even the focus of the arguement and attack that, so that it appears you are still debating. sit down and shut up, you sound way more intelligent when you aren't speaking. yawn. more people complaining about the way I post. here's some advice, attack the post, not the poster. When you start to attack the person and not their words, you show you've lost. |

I was just saying...

An you guys sure blow more smoke than anyone I talk to. "OMG 1% is a lot we need to do something!". Do what!?!? The only logical way to reduce this number is obviously: 1. People commit less crimes that land them in jail 2. We make less things illegal that put a person in jail. #2 is stupid. #1 is not going to be fixed by helping education. #1 will be fixed by having harsher penalties for criminals, but since everyone seems to be focused on making penalties easier, and treating them like some poor little kid that got his hand caught in the cookie jar, #1 will never be fixed. in fact, it will continue to increase because people are less afraid to commit crimes. From now on all I'm going to do is ask for sources. I'd really like to know the study or report that was taken/prepared that proves these points. Thanks! -------------------- FUCK YOU
