Geez that's insane... although I don't exactly see this as some kind of useful tool so much as a grab for new students.

In the meantime, I still don't think Tech's wireless network even supports the iPhone.

I'm being completely honest here, I don't want to start a debate. I don't know how tech's wireless is set up. But it's a little unfair to say "Tech's wireless network doesn't support the iPhone." It should be more like, "the iPhone has trouble connecting to the standard wifi Texas Tech provides." Wifi was around long before the iPhone. If it has trouble connecting or has to have some special configuration on the provider end to work, shame on Apple, not TTU.

I've had issues with Tech WiFi in the past, mostly with it not wanting to handshake with my laptop... This may or may not be the issue.

I think it CAN be if Apple ever releases the SDK. As it is right now, I would imagine a WM device or blackberry would be better. But really, I honestly think this is more of a way to attract new students than anything else. It sure as hell would work for me. smile.gif

Yeah. And the problems are even worse now with Leopard. I honestly don't know if it's an Apple or a Tech issue, but it's REALLY annoying. Some days I have to turn my airport card on and off for 5 mins before I can connect.

I am sorry but an iPhone is NOT enough to get me to go to Abilene Christian. Maybe a Macbook Pro. biggrin.gif

Abilene is a pit. That iPhone would make me happy for a few days, then I would realize I was living in Abilene. Plus that shit aint free! You know they're gonna compensate in another way, tuition, fees, whatever.

I'll be interested to see if they release when 3G will be introduced.
