HahahababahahahahahajahajajajJJJjahahahahaha

You guys are lameass.

VDay is for people to buy shitty shit for people they are in a relationship. Its just like that one diamond commercial with the "perfect boyfriend" vs you, the intolerable slob who doesn't even know her last name, but that's ok, buy her a diamond and she will blow you! Extra gravy if you get it at jared's, the galleria of jewelry.

BLOW ME.

I wish that were true...

I think how much fuss you experience over VD/SAD depends on the person or couple.

Personally, I would rather spend it with a group of friends.

Really? VDs make you want to spend time with your friends?

And Brandon's liking for George Michael isn't surprising to me either.

I think Valentine's Day should be looked at not as something you have to do out of obligation, but you do it as a reminder/rekindling/repledging of what you have.

Yes, we're all busy, tired, overworked, stressed, etc. We don't always feel like being romantic. Sometimes we leave the dishes until tomorrow. We don't clean up our messes. We go to bed angry. We take out things that are bothering us on the one person who always listens to us complain, even if the problem doesn't involve them.

Valentine's Day is just a reminder to chill out. Just like you celebrate your mother on Mother's Day, though you could do it just as well all other days in the year, so you celebrate Valentine's Day. It's not an out to treat that person like crap for the rest of the year; it's simply a reminder to refocus your efforts. If you realize that maybe you'd like to go in a different direction with your expressions, then Valentine's Day is the perfect chance to turn over that new leaf. And if you are satisfied with how things have been going affection and attention-wise, then good for you (but don't play it down for the sake of making a statement about how awesome you are to begin with.)

I'm not "playing it down for the sake of making a statement about being awesome", I just don't see the big deal with the holiday. I don't mind people celebrating it but I just haven't ever had an interest.

And just for the record, I'm far from being perfect and treating my girlfriend perfectly all of the time, but I always try.
