I understand the motivation, that they want to stop seller retaliation for bad feedback, the nasty back-and-forth that can happen... but I think this is a bad idea. Furthermore, I think seeing those arguments between a buyer and seller is very telling. If a seller gets engaged in petty crap or gives their buyer a negative just because they got negative feedback from them (and usually this is obvious), that's probably not a seller I want to buy from.

Plus some sellers won't let you bid unless you have a certain feedback threshold. Getting rid of feedback on buyers thus hurts those who are ONLY buying and never sell. Like, um, me. Not that I've bought anything on ebay in over a year anyway...
