When I actually had a good routine going I always put a couple spoonfuls of the ground flaxseed into my smoothies... didn't even notice the taste really.

Ok, I think I'm gonna pick up some flaxseed from the store on my way home. Probably ground for smoothies and a mix of ground and whole for crackers.

Anyone use flax oil as a nutritional supplement? I don't mean the capsules, I mean using the oil in food. I tried some in a smoothie this morning and it was nasty as all hell, made me want to barf. I'm open to ideas on what to do with it (assuming the oil isn't just rancid, which I doubt since it's a brand new bottle). If I can't find anything tasty to do with it, I'm gonna stick to making flax crackers and the like... I used to mix a tablespoon of flax seen oil every morning and evening in a shot glass, then top the shot glass of with Noni Juice. I actually liked the weird taste of this. However, it really became more of a bother than was worth and I just started taking the capsules. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

I take both flax and fish caplets when working out. I have no idea if or how they help, but I read it in some fitness magazine and I figured they knew more than me It's because it helps lower your cholesterol. Even though it's a "fatty acid" it's a 'good' kind of fatty acid. I don't know if there is an advantage to taking both flax and fish oil as they are both supposed to provide the Omega-3 fatty acid. I do know that after I started taking 2 1000mg flax seed oil capsules a day 3 years ago my cholesterol went down and so did my sitting heart rate. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
