Though I really doubt that either one of these measures will stop the coming recession, I think the democrats are on a better track than the president is (big surprise I know!). That is to say, giving the economy a quick shot in the arm isn't going to be much more than a stop gap. I think the best way to deal with this is to take measures to soften the blow rather than try to prevent it.

The article is misleading as it hints that the Democrats do not want any business incentives or tax cuts (which they do). Again, I find this hilarious as they were the ones so adamantly against Bush's original tax cuts.

$800 per person who makes under $80k a year is going to stimulate the economy? In the words of Lewis Black, "yeah, if it were 19 fifty-freaking 6"
