Everything is so black and white with you guys... The subject (whether the thread title says it or not) is healthcare. Don't assume that whatever I or anyone else says about socialized healthcare being a bad idea means that we also think there should be zero government controlled programs. Police, Fire, transportation, etc, all make perfect sense to be government controlled, as they are systems that all have to work together. I couldn't imagine what our highways would look like if we had a capitalist road building system. Or imagine how a capitalized fire fighter system would work. On the other hand something like education, IMHO that could be a toss up as to whether you have a socialized public school system like we have now or do away with it and have purely private schools.
