Tech finishes 21 in the AP Options

Texas 10
and Kansas, who went 12-1 and beat the then #3 team in the country in a BCS bowl game, doesn't finish in the Top 5. Idiot voters


Just guessing on next year's preseason Top 5, but it will probably look something like this:
1. USC
2. WVU
3. Mizzou
4. LSU
5. OU

USC will be #1 because every voter in the country has a hard-on for them, fair or not. WVU will be #2 based on the fact they blew out OU. Plus White, Slaton, and Devine will be back. Mizzou is returning everyone as well. I don't know who all LSU is returning, but Perriloux getting half a season of work in should convince voters to rank em pretty high. Plus they're the defending champs. OU will probably round out the top 5 since they really weren't even supposed to be as good as they were this year. Next year was supposed to be their year, since Bradford and a lot of the other starters were freshmen. I personally refuse to rank them higher than 5 after the egg they laid against West Virginia.

I initially had Texas at #4 before Charles and Finley left. Now I wouldn't rank them in the top 15. I really wanted to stick KU in the top 5 until I realized they play both UT and OU next year.

Preseason rankings are so stupid. They're always wrong. And the previous year's preseason rankings always seem to get mysteriously lost. I'd love to see the 2007 preseason rankings, if anyone can find them.
