So I watched the Republican debate last night and then came home and checked the drudge and there is a big hoopla how a couple of questions taken were from *gasp* democratic supporters...

Personally I felt that the abortion and the don't-ask-don't-tell questions were one of the top five questions asked...I don't see why it is a big deal if they support the other party. These were important issues which needed to be addressed, and it just so happened that the ones addressing them were democrats....

I thought the purpose of debates was to give the ENTIRE American public (regardless of party affiliation) the ability to see what the candidates stand for...that was why I (a democrat) was watching it in the first place...so why can't the ENTIRE American public ask them questions?

Well, that proves how much you read...

The "hoopla" isn't about the fact that they were democrats, it was the fact that CNN touted these people were "undecided" voters but come to find out, they're hardcore supporters of different candidates.

That is ridiculous. These people were specifically targeted because they were democrats asking questions in a republican debate. I am sure some of the republicans asking questions in the republican debate were not undecided as well, and you don't hear any hoopla surrounding this... these people were specifically targeted because they were democrats.

Regardless, there shouldn't be any "hoopla" to begin with. So what if they were undecided/decided or democratic/republican...they asked questions which needed to be answered.

that's all fine and dandy, just don't say that the people asking the questions are undecided voters.

Why? I mean, the question is still the same if it was asked by a democrat or an undecided voter.
