DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. (AP) - Megan Meier thought she had made a new friend in cyberspace when a cute teenage boy named Josh contacted her on MySpace and began exchanging messages with her. Megan, a 13-year-old who suffered from depression and attention deficit disorder, corresponded with Josh for more than a month before he abruptly ended their friendship, telling her he had heard she was cruel.

The next day Megan committed suicide. Her family learned later that Josh never actually existed; he was created by members of a neighborhood family that included a former friend of Megan's.

This is pretty horrible. Stupid parents...I'd give them a lot of prison time for this.

that's exactly what i'm saying Test. Everyone is making big assumptions about what was wrong with the girl from very little details. we all know tons of people who are medicated. I know a lot of people who feel that they were improperly medicated as a kid. I'm not saying i'm an expert, but doctors are giving drugs to kids for all kinds of reasons. I just don't see in that article where she was so weak and vulnerable.

You can say that i'm making the assumptions by saying that i don't know what was really wrong with her and i'll say that you are making assumptions about what she was being medicated for. if she was on ritalin, she was being medicated. then suddenly its "medicated teen commits suicide"

and yes, this stems from my personal feelings that people who commit suicide disgust me.
