Pedophile arrested in Thailand, taught in Korea Options

So the guy who was molesting children in Cambodia and Vietnam was teaching in Korea..then got caught traveling to Thailand this week.

The weird thing...he was on the same "teaching english in korea" message board I was...that's creepy.

well like cathryn said, there are cases of this happening and it's sad.

most times they dont do any background checks (even though the school tells the parents that they do) so many weirdos and criminals can go teach there. add into the fact that many asians are shy and have different culture upbringings, so they won't report these things as much as they would here.

it's a shame, and gives other male teachers bad names.

and yeah jessica, some countries may be thinking that, but ultimately they know they need english teachers so there's not much they can do.

the most that will happen is they'll have some protests and hopefully try to revamp how they hire new teachers (but probably won't happen).
i don't know about other countries, but in korea, if something is embarrassing to them, they tend to ignore it... so they can just go on about their life and pretend nothing ever happened.
