Basically, I'm looking to generate revenue from my website to cover things like advertising, hosting, and possibly to make a little bit of money myself (though I'm pretty sure that won't happen).
Obviously, google adsense is an option. For AdSense to be effective, you need to generate a pretty large number of hits (5,000+). Since it only pays out when you hit $100 you will not receive a monthly check unless your site has that many clicks.
What kind of site is it? You may want to play with Text-Link-Ads as it is a monthly rental of space on your site.
