I wonder what Jefferson would say about guns in today's age? Unlikely anything like that, being that owning a hand gun won't impower you against the government. A gun will do nothing to stop a tank, rockets, and choppers. (Maybe the constitution should be amended to say "right to bear arms, heavy artillary, and strike weapons.)

I believe, banning guns would absolutely end all school shootings in this country. Why? Because the people who seem to lose it and shoot up the school aren't the ones that typically have a criminal history and would know the lower rungs of society well enough to know how to purchase a gun from the black market. Do you know how to buy a gun from the black market? I sure don't. (If you do, I would appreciate a PM telling me how though )

However, I do not believe school shootings occur often enough to justify banning your ability to defend yourself against those who do know how to buy guns off the black market. Though I would be interested in some data that showed how many lives were saved or criminal acts deterred because a civilian owned a gun.
